A man is in custody following the shooting death of a woman at a home in north Harris County.

Authorities say that the woman's husband appeared to have been the gunman, though no suspect was at the scene when deputies arrived. Several witnesses were being interviewed.

No information was immediately available about what sparked the gunfire.

A woman found shot to death in a car has been identified.

Deanna Jeunune Medina, 33, of Victorville was identified as the victim found shot to death in a car near Llano Lane and Barranca Way, according to a sheriff’s news release.

Shortly after 10 p.m., deputies found Medina dead inside the car.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said that deputies responded to a murder-suicide off Amsterdam Drive.

Lott said deputies responded to do a welfare check at the location after a six-year-old child was not picked up from school.

The School Resource Officer of the school was the one who initially went to make contact with the parent, but there was no response. However, he could hear the television was on.

He then called police to open the door and that's where they found the victim and suspect lying on the floor with gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the victim as Stephanie C. Wallace, who died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head.

Her husband Keith Wallace died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that this was a domestic situation that turned deadly.

Adriana Coronado, whose body was found Wednesday, was shot multiple times and her death has been ruled a homicide, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences said. She was last seen a week ago in the Houston suburb of Katy, where she lived.

Investigators believe Adriana might have been with her father, Caesar Vladimir Coronado, when he was killed. He was found fatally shot Sunday about 80 miles north of Houston. His burned pickup truck was found near Conroe, 45 miles south of where his body was discovered.

A 12-year-old child was transported to a Lubbock hospital after an accidental shooting Saturday afternoon.

First responders arrived on scene after a 12-year-old was shot in the head by a 34-year-old male in the 1400 block of 12th Street before 1 p.m., said police.

The condition of the child is unknown, but police said the shooting appears to have been accidental.

A teenager shot and killed his friend as the two were examining a gun inside a Long Island home, police say.

Nefi Reyes and his friend, a high school student identified as Wilson Gil-Torres, were at Reyes' apartment in Copiague, handling Reyes' handgun, according to Suffolk police. Reyes pointed the gun toward his friend, and it discharged, hitting Gil-Torres in the torso.

A teenage boy has died from an apparently accidental shooting in the Northland. Police sources tell FOX 4 the shooting happened inside a home near North Flora and Northeast 80th Street.

Police haven’t given many details about what exactly happened inside the home. A spokesperson says officers were called to the home to investigate a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they learned that a teenager who lives in the home accidentally shot another teenage boy who was apparently staying with the family. Sources say the victim may have been 16 years old.

Neighbors say they heard one gunshot ring out from the house.

Police are waiting to learn more about Carly Ellis' death before deciding if charges will be filed against the young man who was handling the shotgun when it fired.

Chattanooga Police say 19-year-old Carly Ellis died as the result of the negligent discharge of a firearm.

Her family says the 22-year-old man she was dating was handling the gun. Investigators say Ellis was sitting in a separate room and was hit in the neck by a bullet that came through a wall.

Six people were injured in an accidental shooting at a Florida gun range Saturday, CBS Orlando affiliate WKMG-TV reports.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office told the station the shooting happened at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Forest Road 88 Shooting Range.

Deputies said an antique shotgun accidentally discharged into the concrete floor while a 21-year-old man was loading it.

The pellets ricocheted and hit six people, a family of five -- two men and three children ages 8, 10 and 14 -- and a 15-year-old child who is not related to the family.

They were taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

A Paris High School senior is dead after police say she accidentally shot herself in the chest.

Her life ended abruptly Saturday at Ridgeview Town Homes after police say she accidentally shot herself in the chest with a pistol while waiting for her boyfriend to get ready for work.

"She was visiting her boyfriend at another friend's apartment, and during the time there, she came in possession of a pistol at the residence and while she had it in her possession, it discharged, striking her in her chest," said Randy Tuttle with the Paris Police Department.

We have an update on a little boy who was accidentally shot.

The boy was accidentally shot in the face in Graves County by the teen who was babysitting him. His dad told us Friday night that "It is beyond belief how well he is."

The father said the bullet missed Logan's artery by one millimeter, and the largest part of the bullet fragment is in his top vertebra, 5 millimeters from his spinal cord.

A 13-year-old boy has been found dead following an accidental shooting in Mahaska County.

The sheriff's office says it responded to reports of a shooting Saturday in a rural area about 10 miles southwest of Oskaloosa. When officers arrived, they found the boy with a gunshot wound. He died on the scene.

The sheriff's office investigated the shooting and determined it was accidental.

Savannah- Chatham Metropolitan police are investigating a shooting of a Savannah teen. Investigations so far have uncovered that she was accidentally shot by her friend.

Authorities say violent crimes detectives responded to Candler Hospital at around 1:30 p.m.. The 17 year old victim said she was with her friend near the intersection of Florida Avenue and Ohio Avenue. She told investigators that she drove herself to the hospital.

Charges are still pending in the case.
