"They were being together and living life together," said Pastor Mike Fry, delivering the eulogy for Elaine, Sandy and Stephenie Mazzella, who were all shot to death March 25 in Wake Forest, N.C.

The Mazzellas, all former New Jersey residents, were slain in what law enforcement has said is the result of a feud with a neighbor, Jonathan Frederick Sander.

Sander, 52, is jailed on three counts of first-degree murder.

More than 150 mourners gathered Friday for a service in the Richland Creek Community Church, where Elaine Mazzella, 76, has worshipped with her husband, Salvatore, 78, for the past seven years.

Three caskets were at the head of the church under framed photos of each victim. The women's caskets were white. Sandy's was brown.

Detectives are investigating a homicide after a man was found shot to death in the cab of a box truck in Polk County.

Around 6 a.m., the driver of a tractor-trailer had pulled up behind the box truck, and the box truck rolled into the 18-wheeler on the on ramp from Highway 108 to U.S. 74 West. The driver of the big rig called to report the wreck.

When authorities arrived, they found Destry Horne of Lilesville, N.C. dead in the cab of the truck.

Horne, 51, was shot with a handgun, and there are no signs that would indicate this is a suicide, Det. Sgt. Randall Hodge with the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Again, not the gun's fault. When a gun is being cleaned, it shouldn't be loaded. This isn't an accident, it's dumbasses not doing what they're supposed to do but still not the gun's fault.
