A Brooklyn woman was shot and injured when a police officer’s gun accidentally discharged, sending a bullet through the floor and into her living room, police said.

Plain-clothes officers were executing a search warrant Thursday morning on a third floor apartment at 3003 Clarendon Road in Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood when the shot was fired.

Cerissa Hayes, 35 years old, who lives across the hall from the apartment, heard loud banging on her neighbor’s door. ”I thought it was in my apartment,” she said.

“They busted in, they yelled ‘police,’ and I heard a shot.”

One of the officers had his badge in one hand and gun in the other as he entered the apartment, and police said his gun accidentally fired.

The bullet went through the floor below, grazing a 25-year-old woman in her arm as she slept in her living room, said New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne.

The woman was taken to the hospital,

Columbia County Coroner Vernon Collins said Eleanor “Ellie” Kelly, of the 6200 block of Otis Way, was pronounced dead at about 3 p.m.

Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris identified 14-year-old Zach Provance, who lives at the Keener Street residence where the shooting occurred, as the gunman.

A bullet from the .38-caliber revolver used in the shooting lodged in Kelly’s brain, said Deputy Coroner Harriett Garrison.

Kelly and Provance were inside the home with another boy and girl preparing for a dance at Harlem Middle School, where Kelly and Provance attended, when the shooting occurred.

Correction, the 2nd Amendment has been there all along. What came to a CA Christian college was a lunatic criminal.

Perhaps you can work out the difference?

Guns are banned on many campuses, so the Second Amendment arrived today.

UPDATE: Seven people died and at least two others were wounded in a shooting at a small California religious college Monday, Oakland police said.
