Arizona bans abortion

the SC has already decided......it is up to the individual states.......unless the legislature passes a new law the existing one is still on the books.......that's what the state SC decided and it is obviously true........

Ruling was in Arizona, not South Carolina, issues don’t matter in South Carolina, the State is still in a Civil War sphere

California is a four-hour drive from Phoenix...

Something the poor and lower middle-class often don’t have the money to do. It’ll be cheaper for them to use Arizona’s Safe Haven law and let the the state, meaning taxpayers, raise these unwanted babies. Another Republican Win!!! LOL

IF the Republican War on Women is true, then the next move will be to repeal the Safe Haven Law in order to further subjugate women.

You have options. Arizona has the Safe Haven Law that identifies places where mothers can safely and anonymously give up their babies without fear of prosecution. We have a Safe Haven crisis response team available to assist you with questions, options, and resources, 24/7. Call 1-866-707-2229.

If your baby is unharmed, is under 30 days old and you don’t intend to reclaim your baby, you have options! Simply bring your baby to the Safe Haven locations:

Any Hospital
Any Ambulance
Any Designated Adoption Agency
On-duty Fire Stations
Any Designated Church
New: Open Door Fellowship Church is now a Safe Haven provider.
You must hand your baby to a person at the above locations or may place the baby in the Safe Haven drawer at designated hospitals. Tell them this is a safe haven baby and you may leave. Your baby will be cared for and a good home will be found for the baby.

Of all the hills to die on...
Will the Republican War on Women go after the Safe Haven laws next? All 50 states have some form of them.

Safe Haven Laws: An Invitation to Life
n 1999 Texas became the first U.S. state to pass an infant Safe Haven law. Today, all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico have enacted variations of the law. These laws were passed to aid mothers in crisis and protect their babies from abandonment and infanticide. Instead of abandonment, Safe Haven laws encourage mothers in desperate situations to relinquish their babies to a safe location where they can be cared for and eventually provided with loving families. Unfortunately, cases of babies being abandoned to die still occur. In 2019, for example, 18 babies were relinquished safely under the Safe Haven law in Texas, but 15 babies were illegally abandoned, and of those 15, five perished.[1] These cases have stoked the fervor with which organizations and state offices are working to increase awareness and expand Safe Haven laws.

There is a war on women going on right now.

Let's just call it what it is.

It is NOT hyperbole to say this is the rise of the American form of the Taliban.

A small group of fundamentalists who believe women's role is to be pregnant, in the kitchen and pumping up the population, and who will attack anything that helps a woman take any control in that area, from contraception to abortion.

MAGA is founded on a belief that America was great, when women had no little to no rights and were dependent on men for their needs, and POC were limited in the work place to non-management work jobs.

That is when they reminisce and think about how GREAT things were.

This country is fucked.

Demonstrably insane people are elected and appointed to very important public positions
on the basis of being fetus worshipers.

If we put people into our nation's critical positions
because they liked to play with their own feces for hours on end,
how would that make any less sense?

Has America always been this incredibly stupid,
or has the advent of genetic mutants in the politically conservative states
finally presented us with the challenge to this republic's survival
that we simply cannot meet?
Disagreed. We’re a nation in transition as is the rest of the world. Progress has always seemed to follow a pattern of two steps forward and one step back. We’re in the one step back phase as radical conservatives want to turn the clock back to the 50s and 60s they remember from television shows. Radical liberals want to cram their ideas down the throats of everyone because they believe they know what’s best for them. Most people are caught in the middle.

I’m certain the nation will be fine in another 10-20 years as we step forward again.

One advantage of being a "true believer" is that it must be less stressful.
I'll definitely give you that.

The only thing relieving my stress is that
this all should be getting less relevant to me with each passing day.:nuke:

Case will be appealed, but what makes it interesting is watching if the SCOTUS decides to accept a fast track appeal.

Obviously, Arizona being a swing State, and Trump deciding abortion was up to the individual State, the ruling could be huge come November, and we’ve seen this Court doing its best to accommodate Trump

This is a states issue. There is no right to kill babies in the Constitution.

I trust you know, Mr. Socialist.

Arizona's attorney general, Kris Mayes, a Democrat, called the ruling “unconscionable and an affront to freedom.” She promised to mount a legal effort to fight off implementation of the law and said she would not prosecute doctors for providing abortions....

That is not going to placate the issue, come November, every GOP candidate in Arizona will be portrayed as total abortion proponents, especially Trump and Lake

Outside of Tucson and Tempe it won't make a difference, and there both are university towns that generally go Democrat anyway.

What about the Independents? Aren’t most of them against authoritarians, be they Left or Right Winged?

What is your opinion of Safe Haven laws, Terry?
