Traditional family has its place but it's not for everybody.

Married with children shouldn't be the automatic default mode.

Some people are more suited to a different kind life
and when they're influenced to go "trad,"
they fuck it up.

Most marriages fail today, and many people who fail once have the poor judgement to try again.

If you're a qualified breeder, a monogamous, heterosexual, 'til death do us part relationship
is a good thing.

If you're not a qualified breeder, which, in my opinion, applies to most people,
try something else.

Marriages fail more now because we've got away from raising kids in traditional families.

I don't see that.

American free enterprise has largely done away with the stay at home mom,

and women who want careers, which is perfectly fine, now want kids as well.

Those are factors, I'm sure.

Also, grandparents aren't as nearby anymore to help as they were in my time.



As for midwestern values when it comes to raising kids, those tend to be horrifying to me.
I'll admit that straight out.

The Gestapo and I successfully raised two kids going nowhere near those shamefully regressive protocols
and our marriage is approaching its 51st anniversary.

The amount of things that have led to the break in traditional families is very extensive.

I wrote a paper on this once.

This subject would be worthy of it's own thread.

I've never had the balls to slap the Gestapo, despite our being in the thick of a fifty-one year old fight.

If I did it while my dad was alive, he'd come at me with a bat.
And if I survived that, he'd make me change my surname.

Plus judges probably don't take kindly to former boxers hitting women.
