Billions in taxpayer dollars now go to religious schools via vouchers

Why are there bad schools? Close correlation to money in district and performance.

There are bad schools for many reasons.

What about all the public schools that are bad, dangerous, etc and the parents want to get their kids a good education?

Musical chairs. Someone is always left out. Not acceptable.

Billions in taxpayer dollars are being used to pay tuition at religious schools throughout the country, as state voucher programs expand dramatically and the line separating public education and religion fades.

School vouchers can be used at almost any private school, but the vast majority of the money is being directed to religious schools, according to a Washington Post examination of the nation’s largest voucher programs.

I don't think most school age children want to go to Religion Class 5 days a week.

Most children just want to go to public school with their neighborhood friends and be normal.

Children like to wear their own choice of clothes- NOT UNIFORMS.

So, I look for a new generation of little rebels to take this indifference up with their own parents.

Wrong.

Balto. spends $27k per student, most in the nation second only to NYC.
Last year, 15 Balto. city schools had perfect records. ZERO students could pass their math efficiency exams.

:dunno:

Every statistic I've seen show high correlation of wealth in district to performance of the schools.

That's because White Libs send their kids to private schools. But deny school choice to poor Black children. Deny freedom of religion to poorer parents.

Oh my, you really do care about Black people.
And you really don't.

:dunno:

white lib plantation policies
1. deny Black children an education
2. demonize their religion and fatherhood
3. destroy their traditional families
4. keep Black Americans trapped in Northern ghettos
5. encourage Black women to kill their children before they are born for financial reasons
6. create permanent poverty with generational welfare
7. deny them police protection
8. release criminals back into the community
9. dump infected illegals in their neighborhoods.
10. and "Lynch" Black republicans

You are very moral.

The parents of voucher school kids PAY TAXES TOO. Their money/ their kids.

They SHOULD get to choose where to spend it.

It's called FREEDOM of CHOICE, and the left HATES IT, unless it's to "choose" an abortion.

That's pretty fucked up and all over a desire to keep a below average, government monopoly in place.

What about all the public schools that are bad, dangerous, etc and the parents want to get their kids a good education?
Like I said, your argument is musical chairs.

Free from US law and custom is not freedom. It's anarchy.
What fucking nonsense. It isn't the government's job to tell us where to spend the education dollars for OUR KIDS.

OUR MONEY, and OUR KIDS. Even the French are that smart; the money follows the kids, not some government "district".

Only STALINIST ASSHOLES think the government gets to decide who educates our children..

Parochial schools (esp. Catholic) deliver far superior educations than nearly all of our public schools.

FUCKUP YOUR OWN KIDS IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS; LEAVE EVERYONE ELSE'S ALONE.

In general, of course they do, just like private colleges generally offer a better education than State colleges.

And they should, private schools can flush students they don’t want, they can pick and choose who they admit, public schools can not be selective, they have to educate anyone who walks thru the door, it is the law

The question becomes is it right for the taxpayer to pay for the education of the chosen at the cost of lost funding for public schools?
Parents of voucher kids are TAXPAYERS TOO.
