White people, for the most part, still control those institutions. We can and have used them to advance the interest of white Americans. Whether they still are being used, in a systemic way, is somewhat debatable but it is not debatable whether we have in the past.

I am not a fan of quotas. Affirmative actions was originally intended as a guideline to counteract racial bias and there is nothing objectionable about it used in such a way, but it can be misused.

Whenever anyone starts whining about the NAACP or the UNCF I assume they are either a racist or a moron. Minority groups organize to protect their interests. African Americans have a very distinct rationale for such organizations due to the very violent mistreatment by majority populations. Majority populations are almost always over-represented in the governing bodies of the state and in societal institutions. That is true here. To argue against organizations like the NAACP leaves minorities scattered and without much ability to organize resistance to systemic racism or bigotry. Either you want them defenseless or you are too stupid to understand why they are needed.

Nobody complains about religious organizations, that are, often, predominantly white, committed to the interest of their creed. Where are your complaints against them?
