Consumer Spending Grows by Just 0.1 Percent in May, Inflation Remains High

I'm not ignoring anything. There is always a reason things happen although the president can do little to prevent it. Obama had a recession, Biden had inflation, Reagan and Carter had inflation. These are all reasons/excuses the economy performed poorly for periods of time.

You are justifying the incompetence of Biden

If you think it is so bad it should be easy for you to prove false

Falun Gong practitioners founded a variety of outreach organizations in the United States and elsewhere, including the dance troupe Shen Yun[17][18]. They are known for opposing the Communist Party of China and for anti-evolutionary views.[19][20][21] They also operate Epoch Media Group, which is known for its subsidiaries, New Tang Dynasty Television and The Epoch Times newspaper. The latter has been broadly noted as a politically far-right[35] media entity, and it has received significant attention in the United States for promoting conspiracy theories, such as QAnon and anti-vaccine misinformation, and producing advertisements for former U.S. President Donald Trump. It has also drawn attention in Europe for promoting far-right politicians, primarily in France and Germany.[5][36][26][8]

Oil Embargo, 1973–1974
During the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, Arab members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) imposed an embargo against the United States in retaliation for the U.S. decision to re-supply the Israeli military and to gain leverage in the post-war peace negotiations. Arab OPEC members also extended the embargo to other countries that supported Israel including the Netherlands, Portugal, and South Africa. The embargo both banned petroleum exports to the targeted nations and introduced cuts in oil production. Several years of negotiations between oil-producing nations and oil companies had already destabilized a decades-old pricing system, which exacerbated the embargo’s effects.

On October 6, 1973, Egypt and Syria launched a surprise attack against Israel on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. Egyptian and Syrian forces made early gains across the Suez Canal and Golan Heights, but Israel quickly turned the tide, and within a few weeks Israeli troops had pushed forward into Egyptian and Syrian territory. In an attempt to pressure Western countries to force Israel to withdraw from seized lands, Arab members of OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) announced sharp production cuts and then banned the sale of oil to the United States and the Netherlands. Until that time, OPEC, which was formed in 1960, had kept a relatively low profile, mainly negotiating with international oil companies for better terms for member countries.

Enmity toward the United States among OPEC members had risen in the years preceding the embargo as a result of actions taken by U.S. President Richard M. Nixon to boost the sluggish American economy. For example, Nixon ordered the release of the dollar from the gold standard, which had been in place since the end of World War II. The resulting devaluation of the currency led to financial losses on the part of oil-producing countries, whose revenues consisted largely of U.S. dollars. Enormous increases in Western oil consumption—more than doubling over approximately the preceding 25 years—also contributed to the severity of the crisis, as people in the developed world had become accustomed to cheap gasoline and relatively stable prices.

After the imposition of the embargo, the price of a barrel of oil quadrupled by 1974. As a result, the United States experienced its first fuel shortage and first significant increase in gasoline prices since World War II. In response to the embargo, the U.S. government imposed fuel rationing and lowered speed limits to reduce consumption. Nixon seriously considered military action to seize oil fields in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Abu Dhabi as a last resort. However, negotiations in Washington, D.C., led to the lifting of the embargo in March 1974.

Republicans lied about the situation and it’s causes and remedies

And blamed it all on Carter

Too many people fell for those Republican lies

You are justifying the incompetence of Biden

And blaming the poor economy on the pandemic is justifying the incompetent Trump. He knew the pandemic was a big danger but refused to inform the people. We have the tapes of him talking to Woodward and admitting how serious it was; instead, he told the public it would be gone the next week.

To suggest one party is any more incompetent than the other is just supporting your favorite team.

Trash is trash

Go get what the facts are from a real source asshole

I don’t discuss your pocket turds

So it is not a Democrat run liberal media so you call it bad but you can't shw where it is false. Typical Democrat hypocrisy

Biden claims how good the economy is and is touring bragging Bidenomics. So are you calling Biden a liar? The economy sucks because Biden does not know how to fix inflation

I don't blame or credit the president for the economy. They just hold on and hope it doesn't get too bad. You can point out both negatives and positives for the Trump and Biden economy, but each side only sees the good in their side and the bad in the other.

Democrats approve Biden's handling the economy and Republicans disapprove. The opposite was true for Trump. The independents make the difference.
