This is absolutely correct.
I'll just make an additional note (for those who aren't aware) that a 'conviction' in this way is precisely the immediate goal of these kangaroo proceedings (and is, in a general sense, how lawfare operates). The Obama Regime knows full well that any 'conviction' in this way will later be overturned, but that will take time. In the meantime, they would get the opportunity to let their manipulative media hounds loose on the general public and scream "GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY!" for numerous news cycles, along with repeatedly planting the seed into people's minds that they shouldn't vote for a "convicted felon" for President.
By the time any appeals decision comes around, they will have already spent numerous news cycles manipulating the minds of the masses in the above manner. It's similar to how they will initially put out "good" jobs numbers, let that announcement run through the news cycle, and then later "revise" the numbers downward to hide the truth from the laypeople who don't know how that process works.
In this case, they ultimately want to manipulatively and repeatedly label Trump as a "convicted felon" before any potential election is held later this year. All the other lawfare cases aren't going well for them, so this lawfare case is their best bet of getting any sort of "guilty verdict" on Trump before November comes around.
TLDR: Lawfare is a construct for media consumption meant to manipulate public opinion. That's why Demonkkkrats only care about getting a "guilty verdict" from this kangaroo court, regardless of a higher court later overturning the ruling on appeal.
