the only reasons g-20 protests are bigger in europe is because americans can't protest as well as us. i mean, in germany, every major city has at least 1 day a year where all the communists, neo-nazis, and police come out of their little hidey-holes and have a 3 way bout on the streets. people come from other countries just to beat up policemen. america did pretty well back during the revolutionary war, but if you ask me, you guys lost your touch :D

Nobody is being pitted against anyone. Those countries need help.

It's similar to how we help our children. Sure, young adults can struggle and make it but many don't. Some are fortunate enough to receive help, perhaps with funds for education or a down payment on a home.

What do you have against helping those less fortunate?

We could help them by not empowering their dictatorial leaders with western dollars, so they can build compounds to enslave their people for western corporations.

The entire political system can not be changed overnight. Those who get jobs, even if considered lousy jobs by our standards, are much better off than before. They have food and shelter.

Slowly the political system will change.

AssHat, why are the arbitrarily drawn lines in the sand around the earth the best places to cut off the free market from each other?

Are smaller, isolated markets naturally better for the economy? If so, then why don't we implement protectionism on a subnational basis in the US, so that you have to pay tariffs to import to Alabama? What's the ideal size for an economy before you decide it needs to be protected from itself?

WHy destroy traditional market boundaries, when maintaining them serves to maintain the standard of living people have fought for and died to protect?

There are different value systems in the world. We should be conscious of this, and starve off the systems that have no notion of civil rights by denying them access to our markets. This was fine to do over ivory, and s.african apartheid. WHy is chinese Naziism any different?

Populism is just what's good for a MAJORITY of people. It's not socialism. Socialism is also a lie devised by elitists to destroy. Free markets can be used to uplift people. But you fascists want to stick with the the current globalist PERVERSION of free trade even as it's used to destroy the middle class of a nation and make a small minority of individuals rich for selling out the rest of their nation.

Okay, so when America's most populist president, Jackson, left office with America entering a massive depression, that was good for the MAJORITY of the people? Good to know. Fare trade is good for no one, either. Nothing that populists have ever crusaded for is good for anyone. The reason for this is that only ignorant proles support it!!

Probably the bankers decided to decapitalize society again, as punishment, or to cause crisis, like they just did with this most recent crash to get their bailout money reward.

Haha, the economy tanked because Jackson deliberately crippled the financial structure of America. One particular fallout was that federal surpluses had been getting kicked back to the states for years which in turn speculated in western lands (like real estate). When the economy tanked, the surpluses went away, the land values tanked, and the states were left with massive debts.

There was no federal reserve back then, btw. Of course, there were no bailouts either, and somehow the economy magically recovered eventually. Since opposition to bailouts is the only thing we agree on, I guess the liberals missed this chapter of history...
