New Data Shows Hot Weather Devastating for the Endurance of Electric Vehicles

Are EVs ok at night? Can you drive them during day time? How about during an eclipse?

Driving at night reduces range due to spending battery power on lighting requirements. Even a total eclipse doesn't last longer than a few minutes. Most people experiencing one aren't driving at all. They usually pull over to watch one of these fantastic looking events.

Are EVs ok at night?
Yes, but be aware that driving them at night will result in reduced range due to the need for lights.

Can you drive them during day time?
Yes, but be aware that daytime conditions that are "too hot" or "too cold" will result in reduced range due to heating and cooling requirements, and that refueling (and trips) will take much longer (if driving hundreds of miles at a time).

How about during an eclipse?
Yes, if you desire to do so.

Then there's the 12 VDC battery in a Tesla that runs the electronics... Hot weather kills it too...

What kind of ultra-retard of an engineer decided that there should be two different door releases in a Tesla, one electronic, one mechanical? That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.
