Screw Evan Bayh

Ha! Of course race isn't an issue!

I can't even imagine why some lefty loony poster would even dare to imagine that Obama, two scantily clad teenage white girls, and three phallic symbols in a TV ad could even remotely be suspected of being subliminal racism.

Why would Obama compare himself to a 'scantily clad teenage white girl' then? (even though Paris and Brittney are in their mid '20's)

If he picks Bayh, he loses this election. As we can all see, polls are showing McCain is closing, and even statistically tied, after this week of scummy, negative advertising against Obama. Obama, appears determained to reprove the Kerry experment which already proved that ignoring their sleaze doesn't work.

Personally, I think that without Biden, McCain will be our next President. I'm preparing myself for it, because I see clearly that Obama is nothing special, he's just another stupid dem. And he's going to swing right to pick someone who won't be able to stave off the McCain sleaze, and hit them back. Let me tell you - Biden has a powerful "at long last have you no shame John McCain" moment in him.

Upside - a lot of peope think this country can't be turned around in four years, and things are already set, no matter what, to get worse. People with good credit are now falling behind on their mortgages, and alarming development. If you are having trouble paying your mortgage, the first thing you stop paying is not the electric bill, and it's not the food bill - it's your credit card bill. When that collapses, we're fucked.

So, four years of that smelly, dementia-ridden nasty old fuck, but, with a strong Democratic house and senate to keep his craziest shit off the board, including Alito-like supreme court nominees. Four years later, americans are finally in such bad shape that we finally get a real, FDR-like liberal.

that's worse-case and it's short-term. Long-term, voter registration and the senate and house races, and young voters self-identifying as democrats, are all going to change the political spectrum in this country, and it's going left.

Biden? That's a storybook, man!

I still think he will be a better president than we have had for a long time. I believe he will be more progressive than Clinton.

He would be better than McCain.

I don't think he's more progressive than Clinton. I think they're about the same on balance. Clinton was a little better on health care, and some domestic issues, Obama was better on Iraq.

He has not served yet.

You people are declaring him a failure right at the point he is moving to the center to get elected.

JUST like every candidate HAS TO DO to get elected in this country.

some people wound not be happy with any democrat thats not ultra left. When thoes democrats are not happy about there candidate then it makes me feel warm knowing we are not getting a socialist tax and spend dem.

I listen to allot of his town hall meetings and platforms on youtube and find him to be very moderate and common sense on many issues that i care about.

I don't need an ultra left Democrat. I don't care if a Democrat likes guns, the bible, and NASCAR.

I just want them to be strongly pro-labor, pro-environment, and pro-choice.

I don't think that's asking too much. I think that's what Democrats are supposed to be about.

You sure about that tax part Chap because he's been pretty clear about his plan to raise taxes.

then you must like Obama allot. Hes all three.

How do you figure? In fact my taxes are going to go down with Obama's plan.. just not as much as they would with McCain's. Only tax increase I possibly would have is on Cap gains.. but i don't use that anyways as my effective income tax rate is lower so i always tax my investments via income.

I don't think he's all that pro-labor. He's pro-NAFTA, and he's pro-wall street. Nothing wrong with being pro-business, as long as you balance the profit motive fairly, against the interests of labor and the public welfare.

And he got pretty squishy on Choice, a few weeks ago.

he was tossing out windfall tax threats on the oil companies not to long ago.

Pro labor is ok as long as it doesn't get out of control. We all know where employee productivity goes when they are protected by a union. Down about 50%. Raises in double digits or they strike.. etc...

Wish I could just come into work at 9 leave at 3 and demand sweet annual raises and pensions. LOL my company would fold if people did that.

See, this is how far to the right the discourse in this country has gotten. I don't see anything in Obama's platform that would be considered strongly pro-labor.

He's got some gimmicks to appeal to the electorate. He's much better than McCain on labor, minimum wage, ect. He's probably better than Evan Bayh and Tim Kaine on labor. But, he's still on the payroll of wall street. This middle class is sinking. And I don't think being strongly pro-labor is asking too much of a Democratic candidate.

Irrespective of the "ultra" designation, it was the left that propelled Obama into the nomination. Centrist democrats supported Clinton.

The left that supported him weren't looking for a socialist, they were looking for change. It appears that you believe the left should just shut up and be happy now that they've been used.

That's an interesting strategy .. but it doesn't appear to be working. Without the energy of the left, McCain, the worst candidate for president in American history, may indeed win.

Voters aren't flocking to McCain, but Obama, on his wide swing to the right, isn't picking up more rural voters or republicans .. voters on the left are slipping away thus making the race much closer than it should be.

Perhaps the left can be ignored.

We'll see.

The left supported Kucinich, and the practical left supported Edwards.

It was the youth vote that propelled Obama to the nomination, in my opinion.

well then the left needs to stop crying about it so much... All we need is for them to pull another Ralph Nader in 08.

Democrats are so fickle and indecisive. make a pick and stick with it.

Actually, despite what you read on this board, the percentage of dems, libs, leftists, who will go third party will be negligible. I think that’s why polls are showing that when you include all four candidates on the ballot (that is nadar and barr), McCain is trailing badly. It seems the protest votes this year are going to be, by and large, made by the right.

Sometimes I vent here, but the truth is I’m voting for Obama no matter what happens. I hate McCain. I can’t even look at him. I can’t listen to him. I will do anything to avoid having him on my tv screen for four years. But…I don’t’ like to be told what to do, especially by men, and especially when it comes to the issue of a choice. And that’s why I vent here, most specifically in response to things like “do what Hillary told you to do, vote for Obama”.

I'm confused.

Some Cons complain that liberals are so partisan, they won't slam their own party.

Some cons will tell liberals to shut up, get in line, and vote Obama. Its all very confusing.

I would only consider voting McKinney if Cali is a blow out for Obama. Like I said, I don't think I can stomach watching McCain nominate some reactionaries to the court. And I don't give a crap how much of a majority the Dems have in the senate. They've shown that they don't have the balls to stop an extremist rightwing SCOTUS nominee, even when they have the majority.

Yeah, that’s true. That part scares me.

I liked mccain up till this election. I have to vote based on the platform they are running for office.. Based on the past I would chose mccain over obama since mccain was more moderate and obama was the leftest dem. I find that right now obama is more moderate and sensible candidate then mccain.
