What is hell?

You have no idea how I've come about my faith but your pomposity is hilarious.

Your faith doesn't seem to be something you think much about. If I'm mistaken it's probably because you are incapable of actually explaining your thoughts.

You think you know everything

Unlike you, I actually think about my positions!

and worse that they you think you're right.

I probably am.

You trat God like you rest everything else in.life for your own desires and satisfaction.

LOL. ANd that's how we know you don't have a clue. LOLOLOLOL

You can't stand the reality that you will one day be held to account for your choices.

And there it is! FINALLY! The usual "CHristian" view of "God is gonna kick yer ass cuz you didn't believe like I tol' you to believe! You'll seee! My god is big and he's gonna hurt you real bad!"

Your sickness is pathetic.

You're lying to yourself if you believe science is the panacea to all knowledge and wisdom.

That sentence just confirms your earlier failure to understand science as a method, not a thing.

You've made science an object of worship. That is very misguided and naive.

And you are, as usual, wrong.

You do not need to know anything about quarks, differential equations, or neutron stars to be a fully functioning intelligent human being capable of cultivating knowledge and wisdom.

LOL. Says the man who demonstrably knows nothing about those things but wants to CLAIM they have nothing to do with what he thinks he does know.

That's basically the definition of pure unadulterated ignorance.

there's no such thing as judeo-christianity.

I'll certainly agree with you on that. So many people like to use the judeo Christian message to suggest that America was
founded with a judeo-Christian message/ideals/values etc. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many of our founders were
Christians, where none of our founding fathers were jews. Judaism is totally different from Christianity.

Jesus: the outer darkness, an unquenchable fire, a place of no return.
Buddhism: a place of torment, not eternal, but inconcievably long.
Catholic Church: Described mainly as a separation from God.
Anglican Church: Permanent annihilation and the extinguishing of all consciousness.
Dutch: a choice to go into the darkness and away from the light of God.

God is all loving, all merciful and all powerful. God created his head prosecutor, Lucifer, and God gave us free will to choose between God's light and Lucifer's darkness.

The simple fact you've never asked your mother to scientifically prove how much she loves you, never scientifically calculated how much you can trust a friend, never looked in the bottom of a test tube for the answer why you like DaVinci more than Picasso just means that in your mind you know I am correct that most of life experience, knowledge, and wisdom has nothing to do with science.

Whether you can bring yourself to openly admit it or not is irrelevant. We both know intuitively science is not an object of worship, nor the path to omniscience.

Your understanding of science really leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe you should take some science classes.

This is pretty facile.

LOL. No. Sorry. If Hell exists then GOD CREATED IT. If God created it is 100% His idea and His plan.
Hell is not a place. It's a state of being. It is caused by your own choices.
If someone pointed a gun at my head and said "either you love me or I annihilate you" I'd say that's about the same thing.
No gun. God does not force anyone. If you choose hell, he will weep over losing you, but he still loves you.
Correct. Yet it is the religion that many Christians have. You literally see it every day as they ponce about fantasizing about what will happen to those "hell bent on going to hell" or who act differently from the "Christians".
Such attempt to usurp the judgement of God and His authority. They are not teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ or God when they do this.

The "separation" hypothesis is definitely a much more theologically palatable concept than the concept of a vituperative vicious punishing God who grants INFINITE punishment for sins committed in a finite amount of time. (Same God as who so loved the world...)
You are free to make your choice. You are NOT free of the consequences of that choice.

Unlike you, I actually think about my positions!
Show me. So far you haven't shown evidence of any such thing.
And there it is! FINALLY! The usual "CHristian" view of "God is gonna kick yer ass cuz you didn't believe like I tol' you to believe! You'll seee! My god is big and he's gonna hurt you real bad!"
No, Dimlight. Such choices wind up hurting yourself.

If you choose to run out into a busy freeway, the consequences of getting hit by a car and winding up in the hospital or morgue is something you can't avoid. You made the choice, and you can't avoid the consequences of that choice.

If you choose to fight God, why would you want to stay with Him??? The consequences of that choice you can't avoid either.
Your sickness is pathetic.
Mantra 1d. Lame.

Again what you think and what is aren't the same thing.

I think you're having a temper tantrum because you can't have things your way.

The only pathetic sickness is you is thinking you should be allowed to do whatever you like and never be held accountable for it. That may be the way you want it to work but thats just not how it is.

Your understanding of science really leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe you should take some science classes.
You can run your mouth all you want that nothing is real but physical matter, and science is the pathway to omniscience.

But you can't live that materialist philosophy in real life. Because so much of human experience and knowledge is based on things that are real, but are not composed of material substance.

I'll certainly agree with you on that. So many people like to use the judeo Christian message to suggest that America was

In interesting point, and historically accurate concerning the United States. but somewhat in error concerning jews.

Sure, Jews don't believe Jesus Christ was the promised Messiah. They generally look upon Jesus Christ as simply a great teacher. There is one exception, the Pharisees, who were the priests and lawyers, and felt their power threatened by Jesus Christ.

Of course, like any group, there are those that don't believe either teaching, and simply try to justify their own sins and bad choices. Also, some Jews have accepted Jesus Christ as the promised Messiah and have effectively become Christian Jews.

Science is not a proof. Science is not mathematics. Science is not a test tube. You are correct that science is not a religion.
