Why I hate organized religion

do not hate them, that hurts you and does no damage to the 'organized' religion

Instead of hating all of organized religion try despising those who corrupt religion for their own nefarious purposes. It is not religion at fault here. For every religious leader that defiles the name of Christ for their own benefit, there are hundreds if not thousands who do their best to follow His teachings.

Christ himself was about the fight against corruption of religion. He was always pitting himself against the religious leadership of Israel of the time - and it is the religious leadership of the time who are ultimately responsible for getting Christ crucified.

Historically there are, of course, multiple examples of organized religion being used to justify horrendous acts of violence. But then, when considering the sheer numbers killed and subjected to inhumane treatment, it is the atheistic governments and despots who hold all the records.

and to top that off, it's the one drug they actually want us to take at work!

But what I like most about a good cup of coffee is that it can taste like a complete cup of shit.....and it doesn't really seem to matter. :cof1:

In the morning, coffee is like sex. The worst I've ever had was still pretty good.

Pol Pot, Stalin, Hitler? These communist and nationalist butchers were atheist's. It is not religion that murders, it is man. Man will and can use whatever philisophical tool at his disposal.

Pol Pot and Stalin worshiped communism, Hitler was a devout Christian no matter how much the revisionists attempt to purge that historical fact.

You are the one who needs to do research. The socialist and fascist states have the record for killing their own for not believing in the state.

I don't think religion per se has caused many wars. Leaders have used religion to stir and manipulate the masses to cause more wars and deaths than any other reason I would say.

Its what organized religon does best, manipulate people.

Humm, so Pol Pot, Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Hitler used religion? These men were the greatest mass murdering leaders of modern time. Tell me how these atheist butchers used religion to manipulate the people, other than blaming religion like so many liberals and atheists do today and in fact in this very thread.
 
Guys I dont hate religion I just hate the ones that create huge organizations to influence large numbers of people.

Believe what you believe and quit trying to own other peoples lives with the power you give your leaders.

Believe your philosophy and allow others to believe what they want to believe.

Religion does not make people above others who do not share your beliefs. Quit trying to convert everyone and allow the philosophy to do the converting.

I never try to convert people to my beliefs. I just state them when someone asks and tell them why I believe what I believe when they ask. Its not my business to change what someone believes.

Religion has been (mis)used to manipulate the people, and justification for killing and going to war in the name of for thousands of years.

Atheistic socialism has been around for less than 100 years, and in that short time has produced three leaders that make the worst despotic religious leader in history look like a sainted pacifist.

If more Christians like Hitler had been in power in the 20th century there would be no people left. It was just due to lack of technology and low population that they were outdone by the people who's religion is communism.

Religious people, like Christians and communists, have killed a greater percentage of the words population than any other affliction in history.

If Mao's failed economic theories causing mass starvation is added to his death total, why doesn't laissez-faire conservatism have on its hands the hundreds of billions of people it has starved over the years because it prefers to build yachts for rich people?

Conservatism is despotism. Conservatives are murders, and they are worse than the most cold hearted communist, because they carry out their murders with the approval of their own conscious.
