Team Zimmerman, Broke

Actually..."white trash" is more about a state of mind than it is about bank balances. You fit the description.

And I think it is funny that you would consider navy retirement pay earned over a quarter of a century in uniform as being a "burden on my former employer".... Most folks at the VA hall would say it was nothing more than the heartfelt thanks of a grateful nation.

I suspected you'd fall back on that since the actual reference that you were attempting failed so miserably.

Grateful or not, pensions are still a burden on the employer.

Failed? How so?

regarding the Navy... They had me dirt cheap for a long long time. It's still has been a good deal for them.

Huh? it's a labor contract - entered into on both sides. You might as well say working 40 hours a week is a burden on the employee.

Any chance we can get back to Zimmerman? oh well, guess there's been no new news re him, so probably not....

Failed, as in 'Tobacco Road, white trash', while I am living very comfortably, making a substantial income. All the while my investments churning through the "rapid accumulation" phase according to the Cambridge Adviser's lexicon.

I'm sure they had you cheap, most employers do, which is why I am self-employed. Regardless, pensions are still a burden on the employer.

Which brings up another point, that you stand to lose a significant portion of your income if GovCo goes bankrupt...

You would think that you would have more respect for the presumption of innocence contained in the constitution. Your disdain for it is appalling.

Please. I'm with the court of public opinion. And by most accounts, Zimmerman is guilty as sin. I always thought O.J. "did it"! And I was dismayed when he was acquitted. But karma always catches up to one...which is why he is in prison, presently. I have no doubts about Zimmerman suffering the same fate. When it came down to a "presumption of innocence", for my youthful indiscretions, I learned, "first-hand", that at least two kinds of justice exist...those for the poor and black (minorities), and those for the "rich and white"....and a lot of times, that for the "plain ol' white". It makes me ashamed to say that I'm an American. And for those thinking I should move to somewhere else, if I'm not happy.....I say, I'm working to change the law and the notion of "white privilege", from the grassroots and on the inside. I was born here, and this is my country, even if it isn't living up to its' creed and potential.

not knowing the extent of my portfolio or the various sources of my income stream, you clearly have no idea what portion thereof comes from the government.

And, as I and others have said, white trash is about mindset, not money. You are all white trash... Down to the bone.

"Significant" could mean a wide range, Richie Rich. So the term is correct.

So if it's not about income, the most common cause of "white trash", then please explain, why, in your opinion of course, you use that term to describe me.

Significant is not correct if that portion of my income is insignificant.... Something you have no knowledge of.

Knowing when one is in the presence of white trash is very much like Justice Potter Stewart talking about pornography. "I know it when I see it." Everything about you just reeks of ignorance and bullheadedness and bigotry and a total lack of class and good taste... I know white trash when I see it and you're it. But be honest... You're proud of that status, ain't ya?

Yeah, sure.

1. Ignorance is defined as not knowing about issues being discussed, so that clearly does not apply.
2. "Bullheadedness". Yes I suppose. That describes you as well though, so...
3. Bigotry? Not at all, although you libs love to level that accusation without basis to avoid discussing real issues. Or perhaps you'd care to provide evidence of your assertion?
4. Lack of class. I suppose, since I don't look at myself as a member of any particular "class". Silly me, thinking all Americans are equal.
5. Lack of good taste. Not at all, I assure you. Except of course, I am conversing with you...

We'll just have to agree to disagree... You don't think you're white trash... I do.

But I am sure you'll agree that trashiness, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder.

Only someone who NEVER spent a day in uniform would say something this stupid. I dare you to go to your local VFW and tell the former service members there this.

No, Trayvon Martin Didn't Film His Friends Beating Up a Homeless Man

During a pre-trial hearing last week, George Zimmerman's defense lawyer told the court that it had in its possession cellphone footage taken by Trayvon Martin that shows two of his friends "beating up a homeless guy." In reality, Zimmerman's team now concedes, the video is of two homeless men fighting each other over a bike. Here's the full statement released by the defense on Sunday:

During the Tuesday, May 28th hearing, Mr. O'Mara misstated the nature of video from Trayvon Martin's cell phone which was included in the Defendant's 3rd Supplemental Discovery. He stated that the video showed "two buddies of his beating up a homeless guy," when what happened was Trayvon Martin, along with a buddy, was videotaping two homeless guys fighting each other over a bike. Though it was unintentional, it is a particular concern to us because we are and have been committed to disputing misinformation in every aspect of this case, not causing it. For that, Mr. O’Mara apologizes.

The revelation is unlikely to have a direct impact on the proceedings themselves given Judge Debra S. Nelson had already placed strict restrictions on what the defense is allowed to tell the jury about Martin, barring Zimmerman's team from mentioning the teen's drug use, suspension from school and past fighting during opening statements. (She did, however, leave the door open somewhat for the possibility that the defense could try again later during the trial if it could prove particular pieces of evidence were directly relevant to the proceedings.) In reality, the homeless video was unlikely to have been played for jurors even if it showed what the defense originally wrongly claimed it did.

Still, Sunday's admission will provide the latest fuel to the ongoing public debate that has been raging for months about Zimmerman's innocence or guilt, and is yet another example of how both sides have been trying their case in the court of public opinion. It also raises several questions, chief among them: how the lawyers managed to make the mistake in the first place, and why it took so long for them to correct the misinformation.

The video in question was among texts, photos, and other cellphone footage that the defense informed prosecutors two weeks ago that it hoped to use during Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial once it kicks off next week in Sanford, Fla. The release of that evidence to the public also came only days before Zimmerman's defense announced that it was nearly out of cash and that it would need to raise at least $75,000 "to give George a fighting chance."

I guess I am cynical but I don't think that was any mistake.

What does the VFW have to do with this issue? Pensions from both private and public entities are a burden on the employer.

BURDEN
1a : something that is carried : load
b : duty, responsibility

But I am sure you'll agree that trashiness, like beauty, is in the eyes of the beholder.

Again, what is the basis of your opinion? That I believe in personal responsibility and a severely limited federal government in strict accordance with the intentions of the Founders?

Have a set of balls, and just go do it. Walk into your local Legion Hall or VFW... Ask who there is drawing a military pension of any kind and tell them, to their face, that they are a BURDEN on their country. If you won't then you are clearly an internet PUSSY.
