Hi Flash,
I did not suggest that it does not. I was stating what those two groups (high and low efficacy) believe. I was not expressing an opinion on whether they were correct or incorrect in those views; only that those view affect their political behavior. Why vote if voting makes no difference?
OK, I reread your last sentence. I had misread it before. I agree now.
And speaking of making things happen, here is a good thing to start advocating for:
The video talks about a magic yellow line. Once that line is reached then the federal system changes. Now consider how long it has taken for marijuana to become legal. We are getting close that yellow line for marijuana legalization. It's not like the Federal Congress is just gonna do that on their own without it happening in a lot of States first. That could have happened long ago, but nobody wanted to step out there and champion for it nationally since McGovern did and lost in 72. Every election cycle more States are legalizing marijuana. Guess what's next? Federal legalization. Don't believe it? Just remember these words and wait. You know it's leading to that. And it can't be stopped. Just like when women got the right to vote, interracial marriage became legal, and then we got marriage equality. They all happened the same way. And that is the proven method being begun right now to pass the ...
Anti Corruption Act.
Now, of course, you extremists (not you, Flash! Speaking in general here) will want no part of this. It means working together with the other side to solve common problems, and we know you want none of that. Just the fact that I am a liberal and I am talking about this should instantly cause you to think it's complete hooey and a trick. We know that for you extremists, all of your conspiracy theories are predicated on the other side being really horrible people who wish to destroy the land they love, for whatever reason only you can explain. Makes no sense to the rest of us from either side of the middle.
This plan is endorsed by Democrats and Republicans alike who are sick of our government being thought of so lowly, sick of seeing government blamed for problems caused by big money. If it has seemed hopeless with no way to fix it, now there is a way.
Now if you are a more centrist person of reason, who isn't so blinded by propaganda that you think one side has all the answers, then you are probably one of the people who will approve of this idea, and maybe even want to contribute to the cause, or even get active locally wherever you are to find others who agree and try to get it passed in your area. Little by little gets it done, a little here, a little there, eventually we get enough of the nation that the yellow line is reached and presto. No more big money buying off our government. No, it's not too good to be true. It's going to take a lot of work, and it is going to be worth while. We just need to spread the word and get enough people focused on creating that solution.
Eventually we will reach the goal.
