Cawacko you and your friends look stupid on this thread, and the fact that you could come along and actually speak as if Yurt is anything other than a peestain on this board, and his yelling of "what about black crime?" is anything other than the usual racist asshole diverision, doesn't make me look stupid.

First of all there has been nothing on this thread regarding the shooting that you have disagreed with me on. And while its not your fault because you aren't from here you obviously don't know shit about Oakland, the mentality of the town and what goes on here. Lots of people here try and get involved in stop the violence movements and other work to change the lives for those who live here. My classmate was simply refering to taking this current outrage and using that passion to help change a culture. That's big picture thinking. I'm sorry you don't see it.

You know what I think? I think you have stumbled into a debate that has been taking place within the black community at least since W.E.B. Du Bois took on Booker T Washington in The Souls of Black Folk.

And I think that white people like Yurt have always, and still to this day do - as so transparently rises to the surface whenever Bill Cosby makes an announcement - use the words on one side of this debate, to cover for, and to advance, their racist tendencies.

And I wouldn't go taking your black friend's words and saying that he said the same thing as Yurt said, because 1) he probably didn't and 2) you can bet he didn't mean it the same way. And in my opinion, he's on the wrong side of that debate anyway, though I will stipulate his intentions are not the same as a Yurt's, or any random white person who begins sentences with "even Bill Cosby says..."

You shouldn't need to be either.

A murderer is a murderer, whether they wear a uniform or not. While it is more 'shocking' to see a murder by a cop as it is more unexpected than if done by a 'criminal' it is still murder.... and the outrage should flow either way.
