WHOOSH!
See? You missed that one by a mile!
WHOOSH!
Please, let us ratchet down the rhetoric.
It is time for civil discourse, thank you.
America thanks you.
Hello evince,
You're entitled to your view, evince. We don't always agree.
I certainly agree that lies should be set straight.
I differentiate between lies and opinion. Facts are things that are agreed to by both sides.
People are allowed to have their own view. If they are disputing something you believe is fact it then becomes a matter of discussion with opposing views.
The best case is if everyone is polite and courteous so a cerebral academic discussion can really weigh out the pluses and minuses of each argument.
Personal attacks have no part in a mutually respectful discussion. That actually prevents functional discussions.
Hello evince,
Refusing to talk to somebody is not being kind to them.
It is actually the worst thing that can be done to a troll.
Simply pretend they don't exist - ignore them - make no response.
Trolls do what they do in expectation of getting a response, getting some attention. That's the whole point of trolling - getting attention. Just like Trump trolls the whole nation.
The one thing that terrifies them is to be ignored, to get no attention.
Make their worst fears come true. Ignore them.
Hello Nordberg,
That underscores how correct the message was. It scared extremists to the point that somebody killed him. Same thing happened to MLK. That doesn't mean it was the wrong message. It actually means they were both right.
Hello Saudade,
I don't see how that could happen but I would like to see it happen.
How can voters be pleased with a kneecapped presidency that can't accomplish anything?
How is that going to bring voters out in sufficient numbers after Democrats have been on the defensive for 2 years with little to show for their time?
I see Democrats in a difficult position. They have not been able to gather the support of the non college educated white males. The Republicans have that demographic, and Trump charges up their enthusiasm. Trump can keep on sending tweets after he is out of office. Trump could file papers to run in 2024, start holding rallies, fire them all up and keep them angry, just waiting to vote in 2022.
Trump, the art of the come-back.
America really needs to prosecute him and put him away.
Nice way to argue for unity, dumbass.
There is a lot of pending litigation coming. Maybe they will.
Plenty of people vote split ticket. Not as many do that as in the past, but plenty of people don't want one party control. Moderation is something that many people still prefer.
That being said, I realize that Trump's populism isn't dead, but the system needed to elect people seems to be.
Hello Saudade,
I would be surprised if it amounts to much. So far every case has either been swatted away as superfluous or has not been anything that would change the results.
The bottom line is if the president has any evidence to back up his claims, he needs to present it. So far there has been nothing but unsupported false claims.

Breaking and Analysis: Supreme Court, on 5-3 Party Line Vote, Won’t Restore Wisconsin Ballot Deadline Extension; Justices Fight in Footnotes over Pennsylvania State Court Issue
Posted on October 26, 2020 5:04 pm by Rick Hasen
"On a 5-3 party line vote, the Supreme Court rejected Democrats’ and voting rights groups attempts to reverse the 7th Circuit putting the brakes on a district court order that would have extended the deadline for receipt of absentee ballots postmarked by election day and received for up to six days after election day. All of the Republican-appointed Justices voted against extending the deadline; all of the Democratic-appointed Justices voted to allow the extension."

More to come, Snowflake.
Hello Darth,
My voice joins those which have constantly been overlooked, saying enough of the animosity, noting that the bitter polarization is hurting the country.
This much is plain:
It is not a logical argument to say that since we have been bitter and polarized, with many foolish minds dehumanizing the opposite side, that it means we should continue to hamstring meaningful progress with more bitter polarization.
I would ask how hatespeak is supposed to solve our problems?
It won't.
We must take this election as an inflection point and round the corner towards being a more functional and self-respectful nation.
We have had a president who found it advantageous to stoke the fires of hatred and division. Now, we are nearing the end of that presidency and we will be transitioning into a completely different motivation for leadership. We will truly have a president who intends to serve the entire nation, not just his own supporters.
ps: If you are quoting someone else, please use quotation marks in your post. The reader of your post has no other immediate way to know that it is not you who said the body of your post unless you use quotation marks. When I first read your post I thought it was your words. Then, later, when I clicked on the link THAT was when I learned that no, it wasn't anything you has said at all, that it was someone else. Please use quote marks next time? Thanks.

I am a Democrat and I am reaching out to my fellow Republican Americans, appealing to you to share mutual respect.
Let us keep the lines if civility open so that we can discuss what's going on in our nation and see what we can agree on to move forward.
I am also reaching out to my fellow Americans on the left to accept that we live in a very divided America, that hatred and animosity should not be shown to our fellow Americans.
We are all in this together.
We must find our way forward together.
We have to stop fighting so we can have meaningful discussion of the important issues we have to try to resolve somehow.
Our challenge is to find a way to agree on the basic facts.
If we don't even agree on the facts, we can never decide what needs to be done about them.
President-elect Biden
Her name is on the Tweet for crying out loud lol.
And she has a good point: for four years, Trump supporters were subjected to be called racists, xenophobes, Nazis etc etc. And now, Democrats are asking for unity.
Maybe we aren’t feeling it.
And enough with pinning the hatred and divisiveness on Trump and his supporters. YOUR SIDE has been out in the streets all summer rioting, looting, throwing bricks at people, shooting cops and etc, all over the fact some folks ‘have the gall’ to disagree with them.
We/they aren’t playing that game anymore.
