Yes, obviously the system does not work. It's kind of two different problems in my mind: 1.) The political system needs to be redesigned. 2.) The fascist tendencies in people need to be managed.

Agree. But an oligarchy uses fascism to sustain its control.

They wanted fascism; a dictator. Hillary was not likable but that was not really the issue. I think it was Truman who said if Democrats act like Republicans people will vote for the Republican.
