Can the country be unified?

Trump does not control the Stimulus or the debt. Congress does. Democrats. See the Constitution of the United States. Trump is a capitalist, not a socialist.

Lol, Trump signed the Stimulus into action. Fascists used tariffs & Stimulus a lot just like Trump. Fascists also attacked free press & enterprise. Fascists are crazy about rallies & marching too..... Sound familiar? The differences aren't huge. Fascists did have some Councils manage businesses... That's about it.

Stop trolling.

That guy posted 27 times in about an hour early this morning. I don't know what he did this afternoon (looks about the same), but it's like he logs on a few times a day and just spams the hell out of whatever thread he's in. It strikes me as Asperger's or something.

I guess you can tell advertiser you had a bunch of hits.

The gettysberg address = Into the Night's trolling in monetized value.

You're not wrong when calling out people on the right for whom Fox News isn't enough. However there's a definite irony in a liberal doing so. As a liberal you can go through much of your daily routine and not be exposed to conservative thought. From MSNBC and CNN to the New York Times and Washington Post to PBS and NPR a liberal can stay in their bubble. Hell, in the SF Chronicle the sports writers, the food critics, the architectural critic let alone the op-eds writers all infuse their liberal politics in their regular writing. You watch shows like Saturday Night Live and you're not getting right-wingers hosting, we all know the politics of SNL. And as has been discussed earlier ITT, Universities are dominated by liberals and liberal voices.

Echo chambers aren't good for anyone and lead to more polarization and liberals participate in it just as much as anyone on the right.

An interesting take. Since I don't get my news from CNN, PBS, NPR, MSNBC etc. I guess my bubble isn't as small and "liberal" as you might think. SNL isn't "news." lol I do know ppl though for whom that's a steady diet, and you're right -- they're just as uninformed and misinformed as any #LOSER45 cultist.

Same here. Occasionally Fox manages to actually report on a story in a "fair and balanced" way. In general though their viewers are given half-truths, plausible-sounding untruths, and only part of the story particularly if the issue is something that is political or has been politicized by the Glorious Cult Leader -- like COVID, masks, and so on. When it comes to this pandemic, what they've done borders on the criminal. Everywhere there is a Reichtard, they are *still* claiming that 1) the statistics on mortality and morbidity are false, 2) the WHO/CDC/Fauci are lying, 3) it's no worse than the flu, 3) the death rate is only 1%, and so on and so on. *This* is what has led to our current health catastrophe. No doubt you've already seen many posts here repeating this nonsense.

What is scary now is that apparently Fox is just not partisan enough for the Cult, which is turning to the more unhinged outlets like OANN, Newsmax, Breitbart. And now they even have their own little fact-free social media paradise called Parler, because Facebook and Twitter won't let them lie anymore. Or as we refer to it

Meinspace. When Fox News is too liberal, you know you're a fucking lunatic. Or at least the rest of us know it. You're the first person to tell me about Parler. That's terrifying. So they're going to create Parler accounts and watch Trump TV 22 hours a day? You and I both see where this is headed . . .

Daytime Fox, in my limited experience, tends to be more realistic. I've actually seen daytime Fox news reports that were accurate and complete. Their primetime lineup, though, is a raging dumpster fire of screaming, lying psychopaths. I swear those anchors were grown in a lab and not born like a human.

Trump and his administration have committed many, many, many crimes. The crimes that were not a violation of federal law were crimes against humanity. The list is long, but the COVID response will be remembered for the rest of history as one of the biggest mistakes ever made by an American president. To this damn day, they are encouraging people to spread the virus and cause people to become ill or die.

I'd love to hear just where you get your news from, if not for those plentiful liberal sites

Yes, he huffs gasoline and posts furiously for an hour.

Even the Simpson's pegged Trump to Mussolini mannerisms, that's years before he ran for president.

"In the Simpsons episode 'The Italian Bob' (first aired December 11, 2005) Homer, for reasons unknown, decide to greet the inhabitants of an Italian village by making an impression of Donald Trump."

Dude, you just blew my mind.

I was speaking more in a general sense and wasn't trying to make it about you specifically. And I could have been more specific about the SNL reference. Obviously it isn't a news source but if you watch SNL, late night comedians (Kimmel, Colbert, Meyers et al) you are getting a liberal perspective. It's very easy to stay in a liberal information bubble.

Ultimately people are free to consume news/info however they would like. If the goal is total polarization we seem to be doing a good job of slowly moving in that direction.

Trump made fun of a crippled guy in a wheelchair. Is that more your style of comedy?

"Don't act like Mussolini."--Lisa "I thought I was doing Donald Trump."--Homer

This is my list: Reuters, AP, New York Times, BBC, Washington Post, the Guardian

I also recommend watchingamerica.com. It's a non-profit that translates foreign language articles related to the US into English. The articles aren't always tied to American hot topics (because they reflect foreign views), but it's fascinating to read what the rest of the world is thinking about us.

That was 15 years ago. What got me even more is the comparison between that Simpsons clip and Trump's dramatic mask removal on the White House balcony after he was kept from dying from COVID with treatment that doesn't exist for anyone else.
