And forecasters are cutting their estimates for economic growth this year, with some even predicting that the U.S. gross domestic product could shrink in the first quarter.

Try and find a respected economist who will back outrageous tariffs. It is stupid and childish to use tariffs as Trump has. Look at what they did to the stock market. Over 5 trillion in worth has disappeared.

Trump isn't charging any tariff more than what that nation charges for US imports, Sybil.
The stock market doesn't pay tariffs! :laugh:
Domestically produced products don't pay tariffs either!
 
Eliminating jobs is bad for an economy. That is so basic, that I am shocked the Trumps do not know better. Economic activity by workers has a multiplier effect on the economy. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/multipliereffect.asp Cutting jobs is bad for the economic future of America. Pres. Musk is cutting jobs to justify another tax cut for the wealthy. What he is doing is damaging to the economy, and the people will pay in many ways.

Trump is a failed businessman who bankrupted multiple companies and only made money by scamming others. Is it really a surprise he's scamming the American taxpayer and will bankrupt the county in the process?

Also, is it really a surprise that by cutting taxes for 30 years, America can no longer pay its bills? I support cutting waste, fraud and abuse along with locking up corrupt politicians and business leaders but that's not what is happening here. The Oligarchs are using WFA as an excuse to cut out programs that benefit low income Americans, especially children, the infirm and the elderly. Trump's plans benefit the rich and harm "the least of these". He and his circle are truly an anti-Christian in a nation that claims to be Christian.
