We have a right to make personal medical decisions.
We also have the right to life.


Those two rights are balanced by Roe v. Wade, the Supremes said when you balance those two, there is a time when a developing zygote's right to life becomes viable and thus its right to life outweighs the woman's right to make her own medical decisions. That happens after about 6 months of pregnancy.

You see, when absolute rights conflict with each other a compromise must be worked out.
