All things beer thread.

The only beer I like and the only way I like it:

That isn't beer, it's diluted cat piss mixed with high fructose corn syrup in a bottle that is appealing to freshmen frat boys...

Unfortunately doctors want to throw scripts for pharmaceuticals at you when the slightest thing pops up during your annual. Some things can't be changed with lifestyle modifications, but a lot of stuff can -- hypertension, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, gout, etc.

You ain't just whistl'in Dixie, sister! Just a side step from the OP topic: I once banged up my leg....had a subdural hematoma AND a "small blot clot" in the area. Outside of a specialist doctor cutting away some dead scar tissue and giving some amazing liquid that healed up real well, she wanted me to take Eliquis (new blood thinner) for a about 2 weeks. That stuff has some potential nasty side affects, one of which I saw in my dad when he was prescribed it. So instead, I just did garlic, tumeric and hawthorne pills every other day for the same time period. Next check up, clot was gone. No lie.

You were lucky to survive that. I'm glad of it, too.

Molson Golden....a buddy in college introduced me to it. Good stuff, if I remember.

I've always been impressed with the Canadian Beer offerings. AND THEIR WHISKEY!

My palette for alcoholic beverages has tapered off through the years, but it has only made me more discriminate in my taste for it.

Thanks!

Drinking, cooking, baking, or making. All things beer.

I'm a scotch guy myself but if drink beer its NEVER a light beer or an IPA. Pabst Blue Ribbon was the original IPA and everyone hates PBR but this new wave of IPAs makes everyone think they should. Laphroaig is all you need.

Scotch is good, but I have expensive taste in it so it was always a rarity. My favorite was one from Islay. I can't recall the name though. I agree with you on light beer but I do like some IPAs. IPAs are normally hit-or-miss. They either coast through with just the right amount of bitterness or end up being swill. I had one that all I could taste was hops bitterness.

Laphroaig and Ardbeg are both distilled in Islay. I love them both but Laphroaig just a bit more as it tends to be more peaty. I cant remember ever having a "good' IPA. Light beer is NEVER an option.

And yet, there are excellent fruit beers.

Lindemans Strawberry is made from one-year-old oak-aged lambic and pure strawberry juice. A dark red/orangey, slightly cloudy colour. Deliciously fruity with the flavor of freshly picked strawberries.

Lambecs are dessert beers and double brewed to taste fruity. That's cool because it is the brewer's art that does that. That's different from needing a lime, lemon, orange, or some other piece of fruit adorning your beer...
