I'll second that. I live in a majority black city (Emeryville) right next to an overwhelmingly black city (Oakland). Muslims in general are readily accepted here.The black community does not share the same suspicion / anger at muslims that is seen in wider American society. The Nation of Islam and their leaders have always been well respected among African-Americans and 9/11 did nothing to change that. The largest muslim community in America sits in and around an 80% black Detroit.
