Yikes! How was your visit with your daughter?

Great, thanks for asking...... I turned the A/C down but they were ok.. They had been camping @ a place called Burney falls, up by Mt Lassen, on the hottest weekend of the year..lol So they were pooped mostly.

I had some friends that had just left there & they said the water was frigid..

Hardly anyone went in, but one of my daughter took a dive. She didn't seem that cold in the clip, but she could have been in shock...lol

I will! You're right, she's spent a lot of her own money.... you can't see all the toys and activity stations she's set up in this pic. The windows are really nice and give the room, which is huge, a nice open light feel. It makes me nervous though because the parking lot is on the street right by the door into her room. She keeps the door locked but still.... all those windows. And too many crazies with guns. I try not to think about it.

Yea, that is sad, but here they have to do it as well..... The teachers end up spending on just basic paper & pencils etc for students here........

They told us 25 years ago that if we voted for the lottery we would never have to worry about education.. Now many places in Calif are some of the crappiest in the country & they cry broke........

I know, right? Same thing here in Florida. We voted for the lottery long ago under the pretense it was for schools, and teachers are still having to buy their own supplies. Sad, really.

Missouri was exactly the same way! They convinced ppl to vote for the lottery yet somehow the schools are still broke. Illinois, where my daughter lives/teaches, is the same way. She worked a long time as a "part time" contract instructor until the voters finally passed a tax increase to better fund the district. She is now permanent FT with benefits.

A funny (not ha-ha) thing about that lottery and the legalized casinos in Missouri: Her dad and her aunt (dad's sister) both have severe gambling problems. His house was foreclosed on, he's got two criminal charges pending against him for passing bad checks, and now a criminal trespass for going to the casino after being banned from them. Probably he self-banned himself which you can do in MO, but if they catch you on the premises you are arrested. Her aunt is almost as bad. It's really sad.

They say the odds of winning "the big one" is about the same, no matter how many tix you buy, or if you don't buy any......lol

I play about ever 4 or 5 years, usually a pool @ work or fam...

You loose a few fucks or more, then life goes on........

How Freudian. lol

Once in a great while I'll buy a Powerball or Mega Millions ticket, when there's one of those huge jackpots. I think the most I've ever won was $3 or something.

I've also heard the lottery is designed for the mathematically challenged, which is me!

They sure got my number, as well. Pun intended. Heheheh.

My oldest brother is mathematically gifted. In his youth he spent a lot of time in Las Vegas. He only played poker. He was very good at it because he can count cards, plus he seems to be pretty lucky.
