Amendment 13 And A Military Draft

then please, provide us with the plain and clear text that gives the federal government the power to conscript.

How about some logic...assuming your brain won't explode.

Simple question: Does the Constitution allow the federal government to provide for the national defense? This is a yes or no question.

you're not using logic with this, you're using your feels. yes, the constitution MANDATES that the federal government provide for national defense, but NOWHERE does it allow them the power to violate the rights of the people to do so, unless you can show where it specifically says such............

Well then Mr. Helper, how do you think they provide for the defense? They ask pretty please?

there is a reason it's called a VOLUNTARY service, you idiot. it's why they offer salary and benefits and why they are authorized to raise an army via taxes on the people.

I have to ask again, how the fuck did most of you morons actually survive this long with such idiocy in your heads?

What happens if you don't have enough volunteers? The feds just forget about their Constitutional obligation?

no, they do what they can with what they are allowed. but i'll ask again, WHERE in the constitution is the power SPECIFICALLY authorized for the feds to conscript?

What are they allowed? The Constitution doesn't mention any limits, it just says provide for defense. And that answers your question.

again, how you fail. the constitution was written to RESTRICT GOVERNMENT, not the people. so if it's written to restrict government, how does logic then assume that they can do something that isn't specifically written in to it? there is your answer

You're wrong on one point. You seem to be saying that the feds are restricted period...that's not true. They do have some powers and obligations. One of them is providing for defense.

the feds ARE restricted, period. it's why the constitution was written. yes, they do have some powers and obligations but those are specifically prescribed through the articles of the constitution, nothing more, nothing less. to infer that a power is expanded because of 'defense' or some other word then falls in to the same trap that liberals pursue concerning 'general welfare'

Exactly. Providing for defense is one of those.
