Anti-shitposting discussion.

So many bored people shitposting, and, or trolling in these trying downtimes. If we need pointless stuff to post for alleviating boredom let's go a better route.

Let's start with this sweetie.

Shitposting and trolling not allowed.

You've got a point, I have found that if I take the time, and make the effort to put a point or thought in writing, nobody really cares; it just seems that most posters on this forum, just like taking cheap shots at each other.

Irony = "psychobabble" now?

You seem even more angry and unhappy than usual. Here, come sit here on the JPP PsychoCouch(tm) and tell us all about it.

YES!! Yes I am. I'm fumin'! Restaurants are closed, now I gotta cook all week. Went to buy a few pounds of gunpowder to stay content for the next 2 weeks and it went up again. It's gonna be 72 deg. on Fri. and my car is locked up at the dealership. My pool league is cancelled. TV sucks, the XFL was cancelled, no hockey, no races, no sports at all. This is going to be trying times locked up at home with a Democrat for at least the next 2 weeks!

There, now you can get up off the PsycoCouch(tm). Stay well (:

Damn, your life really IS harder than the rest of ours. We had a great laugh last night at some local gun-freak who was crying loudly about how the ammo is all gone and we need more MORE MORE -- we need it apparently far more than we need TP, rubbing alcohol, cough medicine, food, TP, and good health. I guess he's worried about his elderly neighbors coming over to ask for a spare can of green beans.

Nah, my life is pretty easy now, I'm good.
I think you're full of shit. There is plenty of ammo on gun store shelves, the only complaints I've heard are increasing prices. No "crying loudly," though :palm:

Hello Crocodile,

No, he thinks I'm a troll because I meme shitposters, laugh at perpetual liars, and give trolls a rough time. He'll go to a TDAK discussion and somehow manage to take exception with what I say, so enough said. He has a bias against me from our old forum.

" give trolls a rough time. "

Sounds like poking the bear.

If we want fewer attack posts, best not to provoke them.

...apparently nothing we're concerned about around here, other than rising prices. Lots of ammo on our shelves. I only bought 2 lbs. of FFF black powder for my muzzle loaders and percussion handguns. That should last me until the prices drop (I still have another 3/4 lb.). As far as cartridge ammo, I probably have more than I'll shoot in my lifetime, but I still reload a little when I get bored.

Hello Trumpet,

Well, that's the thing.

This form of social media is a bit like the mainstream media.

If it bleeds it leads.

Discussions and posts that are more provocative are more likely to solicit a response.

Many of the issues we talk about can be dull just focusing on the issues.

Flame wars run a lot hotter.

I prefer to respond to intelligent posts. I seek them out. I am only here for the fewer than 5% of the posts which actually have some substance to them. People like to have their minds challenged. Most here will capitulate to having their emotions stroked, but that is so fragile and temporary. Real knowledge of the issues comes from actually talking about them, (instead of other people.)

But the flame wars do serve one purpose. They generate volume. The discussions go much quicker when so much is said about, really, nothing. I don't relish scrolling through pages of ignore messages to get to thoughtful posts, but it means every time I refresh the front page it is updated with changes. I always have the chance that something thought-provoking might have been said, I can always search for it. That level of volume is so great, I can't even keep up with all the discussions I would like to. So whenever I feel like chilling out and furthering how well informed I am, I can always come here and find some interesting discussions.

I just have zero desire to participate in the flame wars. Life's too short for that!

And for clever minds, provocative does not have to mean personal or nasty...

I totally agree with what you said.
