Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal reports that the NFL expects to generate $14 billion in 2017. That’s a $6 billion increase from 2010, when the NFL racked up $8 billion.

And do they really think those figures haven't included some dollars spent by "racists"? They think those dollars are going to keep coming their way when their players are trolling the racists? As right as they are about their cause, it's bad for the business if they're counting on the racist dollar.

Those lawsuits should be thrown out. Most of the "victims" can't prove anything and are just making it up. "Oh - i'm depressed and i have headaches and my memory is bad. Gimme $10 million."

Look where it got kapernick and current ratings. Ultimately TV contracts will be renogtiated and we'll find out the real effects then.

Kapernick knew what he was risking .. he got just what he wanted .. and more.

This also isn't the first time NFL ratings have been down early in the season .. this season complicated even more by hurricanes.

I'm a huge football fan so I'm not rooting against the NFL. I'm just speaking from a business perspective

Bingo on the last sentence.

Sports is an escape for the working class. Speaking for myself, I work all week waiting for weekend football and when it's time for football, I don't want to hear about politics.

If these guys want to indulge in politics or make political statements [which they have every right to do] they need to do it on their own time and away from the field.

If the NFL had any gonalds they would make a good business decision: all players shall stand for the national anthem. They would get some fans back and problem solved.
