Black NFL players send Goodell a memo demanding racial justice!! NFL is 70% black

:rofl2:

NFL will reach $14 billion in 2017 revenue

Commissioner Roger Goodell said seven years ago that he’d like the NFL to reach $25 billion in annual revenue by 2027. The league is roughly on track to get there.

Daniel Kaplan of SportsBusiness Journal reports that the NFL expects to generate $14 billion in 2017. That’s a $6 billion increase from 2010, when the NFL racked up $8 billion.

Oh sure, the NFL is dying ...

:rofl2:

How much have they budgeted for the lawsuits from the meatheads claiming brain injuries?
LOL
And do they really think those figures haven't included some dollars spent by "racists"? They think those dollars are going to keep coming their way when their players are trolling the racists? As right as they are about their cause, it's bad for the business if they're counting on the racist dollar.

This is ridiculous. The method of their protest is to disrupt the traditional ceremony. They will not settle for a mere PSA and you know it. They want attention for their cause and they will make sure they get it no matter what the bottom line is for their employer.

In my opinion, they should be fired for feeding into a controversy (while on the job) that could lead to alienating customers. It's a business, not a social program. Start a social justice league if you want to use the sport to highlight your cause. Don't hijack your employer's workplace and disrupt the scene. Be professional

Unfortunately for your opinion, they can fight for social justice, still get paid, and not give a rats as about your opinion.

Don't like it, don't watch the games.

Simple.

Those lawsuits should be thrown out. Most of the "victims" can't prove anything and are just making it up. "Oh - i'm depressed and i have headaches and my memory is bad. Gimme $10 million."

Obviously the racist dollar isn't as large as you think it is.

Look where it got kapernick and current ratings. Ultimately TV contracts will be renogtiated and we'll find out the real effects then.

Kapernick knew what he was risking .. he got just what he wanted .. and more.

This also isn't the first time NFL ratings have been down early in the season .. this season complicated even more by hurricanes.

Have they had protests like this? (not to mention arguably poor levels of play)

I'm a huge football fan so I'm not rooting against the NFL. I'm just speaking from a business perspective

The taxpayers contributed $600 million to the stadium. As a socialist is that ok with you?

You mean am I Ok with investment in a world class stadium that will generate far more than 600M in jobs and revenue for the city?

Yup .. sure am.

Man that is some awesome spin. Yeah, ratings are down because of hurricanes. Nice.

NFL got blackmailed over the domestic abuse thing.

Like I said they can run their business any way they want. They are bleeding fans and I am not just talking about myself. Ratings are down across the board.

I am not blaming it on just one thing. It is a multitude of issues. But ultimately for most people sports are an escape. Having PSAs is not what they are looking for

Bingo on the last sentence.

Sports is an escape for the working class. Speaking for myself, I work all week waiting for weekend football and when it's time for football, I don't want to hear about politics.

If these guys want to indulge in politics or make political statements [which they have every right to do] they need to do it on their own time and away from the field.

If the NFL had any gonalds they would make a good business decision: all players shall stand for the national anthem. They would get some fans back and problem solved.
