Capitalism Has Destroyed / Is Destroying American Family Values

Hello Flash,

Having unions is a different manner than being forced to join the union to keep your job.

If workers for a particular company enjoy significant gains from a union it is only right that they should be required to join the union.

'Right to Work' is a misnomer.

It is really 'Right To Rip Off Your Fellow Workers By Being A Slacker Who Doesn't Do His Share.'

AKA: Union Busting Technique parading around as a measure to help workers.

But who does it really help?

Greedy corporations and the rich who own them, that's who.

And keeping the union bosses wealthy while taking away the freedom of workers. They should not be forced to join the union (or pay dues in lieu of).

It was originally done at the colonial and then state level. When corporations became richer and more powerful the federal government started passing anti-trust laws (1890). They were considered legal persons for purposes of making contracts (1819), holding property.......

The Constitution does not say free speech applies only to persons, but that Congress shall pass no laws abridging free speech (regardless of whether it applies to persons, organizations, corporations......)

Birds, chickens, rabbits, blah, blah, blah.:|

By 1810, about 2 million school-age children were working 50- to 70-hour weeks. Most came from poor families. When parents could not support their children, they sometimes turned them over to a mill or factory owner. One glass factory in Massachusetts was fenced with barbed wire "to keep the young imps inside." These were boys under 12 who carried loads of hot glass all night for a wage of 40 cents to $1.10 per night.

Yeah, and we really have to get rid of those pesky child labor laws, too.

There is no comparison between child labor laws and requiring a person to join a union and pay dues in order to keep his job. Since the WI law prohibiting mandatory union membership the number of teachers who are members has dropped by 40% (136,000). They obviously did not think their membership was that beneficial.

True, but thank God they weren't forced to join a union and pay dues.

worker protections

how about you can opt out if you sign away all the benifits that union negotiated with the employer.

so you will be getting less an hour, fewer days off and no medical benefits

DEAL?
