Civil War museum gets rid of Confederate flag on new logo

There are not many Northern Republicans today. In fact, the entire New England congressional delegation are all Democrats. Not one single Republican Congressperson from New England. Not. A. One.

ok, so you ruled out the new england area..............is that the entire 'north' to you?

I see you're mad that even a fucking pussy like LV realizes what you are, bitch.

Not real sure how you think defending drunk driving is making someone look moronic. Since you have nothing in your life but dreams that will never be fulfilled, whatever makes you feel better.

That dishonorable discharge must still hurt after all these years.

TRIGGERED!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's too easy for your idiot ass................

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

It doesn't get much better when you get to the mid-Atlantic;

There are 27 Congressional districts in NY; 5 of which are Republican-held
There are 12 Congressional districts in NJ; 2 of which are Republican-held
There are 18 Congressional districts in PA; 9 of which are Republican-held
There are 8 Congressional districts in MD; 1 of which is Republican-held

Considering NY and NJ, there aren't many successful GOP politicians, a few, mostly in rural areas, but they usually are more moderate or even liberal compared to the national GOP

i'm arguing for preserving HISTORY, nothing more, nothing less

But how do the monuments do that?

Wouldn't history be preserved by the Articles of Secession?

What history do those monuments and flags teach that you can't learn from reading the Articles of Secession?

New York has 27 congressional districts, but only 5 Republicans.
New Jersey has 12, but only 2 Republicans
Delaware has 1, and it's a Democrat
Maryland has 8, but only 1 Republican

Pennsylvania is balanced 50-50, but Pennsylvania is a gerrymandered state. Even with the gerrymander, the GOP still can't achieve majority in the delegation.

Sure! Why not? Or maybe those sites should have only monuments to Union soldiers. How's that for a compromise? We can still have monuments and flags, but they are monuments to the Union soldiers and flying above them are Union flags. You have a problem with that?

OMG! If we remove Confederate monuments, dumb old Flash here will completely forget the outcome of the Civil War. Someone help him...his memory is really bad. He can't remember things unless there are monuments to them.

That would be stupid. We should also eliminate any mention of Nazis and Germans in the Holocaust and WWII museums and battlefields (and Japan, Italy,....). After all, we all remember who won without mentioning the enemy.

Why glorify war or killing--ban all monument to war and soldiers.

When LV426 realizes how stupid his ideas are he turns to insults and personal attacks.

Because it's the same themes...and the reason for them taking it off their logo falls within those same themes. You are lazily trying to compartmentalize because if you looked at it as a whole, you couldn't make the case that those monuments or flags serve the teaching of history at all.

Instead, you can just look at things like the Articles of Secession. There's your history. But I think you're too lazy for that because they're not bright and colorful, and it involves reading and critical thinking...not your strong suits.

Using your logic we should ban the Articles of Secession because they glorify slavery and going to war to save it. After all, we can't let people know about those things. The history Nazis need to protect us from such knowledge.

The US government should have an official burn the confederate flag holiday April 9th to commemorate the South's total surrender
to America.:flagsal:

A good history would include all of them. Primary sources like the Articles of Confederation are very good, but read by themselves without additional history they give the impression the North was fighting to end slavery. It also makes it appear states were united over this issue and ignores variations in the states. For example, Sam Houston was elected governor of Texas in 1859 and campaigned around the state in 1860 opposing secession. He refused to swear an oath to the Confederacy. Some counties voted against secession.

Selective history is often misleading and designed to fit partisan prejudices.
