It applies to everything. It goes back to the ideas at the signing of the Constitution and is in line with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis' 1932 comment about the States being laboratories of democracy.

The RWers you describe would be stupid to not consider the long term ramifications. Your concerns would be addressed since, State's Rights aside, the Constitution still applies. The Tenth Amendment can't trump the Fourteenth. <-- see what I did there ;)

Most states would form co-ops for trade preventing what Nordberg described. Think about why those states can get away with it; is it Federal law that allows that to happen?

I go by bull&terrier now as I had someone on another forum doxx me and have been dealing with an attempted swatting as well as calling my house all hours of the night with nasty vulgar crap aimed at my wife and kids. I didn't want to bring it up, but it seems it's very important to that dutch uncle guy.

It's been insane, latest was they started calling christmas eve, imagine the phone going off all hours while trying to get christmas presents out. The forum this happened on protected the doxxer and the mod who gave him my personal info.
