Dems did themselves in!

Had Sanders been the nominee, only 40% may have supported him.

Hillary wasn't Obama. Wasn't as articulate, wasn't as politically innocent, isn't a man.

Yes, that ceiling still exists.
And that was her fatal flaw. She assumed that she had his base. Hell....even he/Michelle couldn't convince them to come out and vote.

Still, it's nice to see you failed to support your own socialist rhetoric, by not supporting one in the primary. Now we can dismiss you for the phone that you are.

You can dismiss whatever you want. Why would I care?

But just so you know, most socialists didn't support Sanders ... because he's not really a socialist.

"As a comparison of Sanders’ positions to these core conceptions of socialism makes clear, his “socialism” is a ruse to prevent the emergence of the real thing."

To each his own who they choose to support but Sanders is the closest we'll get to a real socialist having a chance to win so I don't understand why true socialists would rather have Hillary Clinton than a democratic socialist.

The man and his wife scammed a bank and ruined an academic institution. Hell yeah, he's a socialist!

Have and have nots can more accurately be defined as the workers and parasites....

Bernies promises weren't achievable because they are realistically impossible....and stupid giveaways that cannot
and will never 'pay' for themselves....
The 'issue' is overpaid college employees, outrageous pensions and overly generous benefits....
just as it is with most if not all government employees with wages and benefits that are unheard of in
the private sector.....

It doesn't matter you blindingly stupid blithering idiot!
Congress wouldn't have allowed any of his unrealistic plans anymore than they will the Donald's. Go back to happy hour, old fool.

Given the nature of Congress this past decade, that's pretty much why I didn't think it matters which Democrat is in the White House. It could be argued that had Sanders won the nomination, Dems. would have retaken a pretty strong majority in the Senate. As it is, they picked up a seat or two with a bland turnout.

The whole glass ceiling and sexism argument against Hillary is an interesting one. She did win the popular vote by three million so from that perspective it didn't stop her and shows this country will vote for a woman. (I don't know if being a woman prevented her from understanding we have an electoral college that decides the winner and thus which states to focus on)

She also didn't have the support of many women so I don't know if woman vs woman sexism gets discussed much.

That's because you don't know much about socialists and socialism.

To each his own.

on topic yes the Dems are doing themselves "in"

Wanting to start a war with Russia, wanting to dismantle our election process in front of the whole world ad nauseam, delaying and obstructing moving this country forward is the recipe for more of last November for them.
Shame for the country, same ON them

Then I'll ask the question with the goal of understanding better. Why would socialists rather have someone like Hillary Clinton than a democratic socialist like Bernie in office?

Because Sanders is not a socialist, thus, comparing him to Clinton is comparing apples to apples. Don't be confused by the labels.

While Sanders talks a lot about wasteful military spending, he legislates quite differently.

Bernie Sanders Voting Record Antithetical To His Purported Anti-War Stance
In spite of claims of being antiwar, his “hawkish” support of Clinton’s military actions in the 1999 Kosovo War caused one of his advisers to quit. When antiwar activists occupied Sanders’ office in 1999 because of that support of Clinton’s war policies, he had them arrested.

What I learned about Bernie Sanders

If you take the time to read the WSW articles I posted on Sanders, you'd get a better feel on why socialists don't really care for him.

There is much that is decidedly fake about Bernie Sanders.

I disagree with the suggestion regarding them voting for a woman, in Hillary's case; because I believe they were voting, just to be part of something that hadn't happened before and her voters were more then willing to turn a blind eye to her behavior and her past.
