Dump stacking the courts w/racist white men for a lifetime.

How stupid. they are the arbiters in a trial. they hear cases, You think a guy who has never heard a case or presented one is qualified to be a judge.? Do you really? Sad, truth and facts have a left wing slant.

That is the purpose of Senate hearings and confirmation. Grassley called for the reconsideration of Mateer and Talley and they both withdrew. Petersen is doubtful. Gorsuch was a good appointment.

Fun fact: DEMOCRATS axed the judicial filibuster when they did away with the supermajority requirement for appointments.

So no matter how bad Trumps choices are, it is someone else's responsibility to stop them from getting positions if they are unqualified. The guy who puts them up has no responsibility? The guy who cannot vet as he has shown, is in the clear? Gorsuck is terrible. That is why bannon pushed so hard to get him in.

Funner fact. The Repubs did it on supreme court seats. Which is a much bigger deal. The Repubs stonewalled Obama court appointments refusing to even permit a vote in many cases. The Repubs announced they would do everything possible to stop his appointments. . the Dems changed the rules because many court seats were being kept empty by repubs..

Which Gorsuch decision is terrible?

Conversion therapy is cruel and does not work. it has been banned in many states. it is like saying waterboarding is opinion.

And before Obama the Dems had refused to confirm many of George Bush's appointments. Both sides do whatever they can to win. The real problem occurred because the Senate began allowing a member to object to an action which then required 60 votes instead of requiring members to actually hold the floor to block an action--it made it too easy to block anything.

I'm not sure it was a "much bigger deal." Dems set a precedent by dropping the 60 vote requirement and it applied to executive and judicial appointments--literally hundreds of appointments. A president may have 2-3 Supreme Court appointments during his term(s). It is unlikely the Reps would have changed the requirement if the Dems had not set the precedent.

I know.....and the demmycrats let them do it......isn't that fabulous?.....and now Trump is filling all those seats and demmycrats are letting him do it again.......more fabulous.....

They hear cases in which lawyers present their sides. It is important to know what is legal and proper in a court. Trumps people are political, not judicial in nature. He does not care if they know their way around a court room as long as they are super conservative and will make sure the wealthy and corporations win. The Roberts court is the most pro corporate in history and Gorsuck wont make it fairer.

as I recall, the 49 judges approved had high ratings from the ABA....the next 49 to be approved likely will as well.....

According to Senator Kennedy Trump called him after the video and told him to keep doing his job. Trump asked Kennedy what he thought they should do and Kennedy said withdraw the nomination. Trump said "I think that's what we will do." Petersen has withdrawn.

It's actually not Trump doing this.
Trump is too fucking stupid, and uninformed to have a credible opinion on American jurisprudence.

Other people are making the choices, people much smarter than Trump, and Trump is just signing off of them.

Obviously, a distinction without much of a difference.
But, to me the point is....why did anyone expect this dim witted man child to be a "populist" champion, a man for the working people? He is to fucking stupid to have informed opinions or substantive knowledge about how the government operates.

It was always going to be a cast of the same old rightwing reactionaries behind the scenes making the decisions.

if that's the case why is there the nevertrump movement? why is he against globalist policies (and withdraw us from) agreements like the trans pacific partnership? I'll understand if you can't respond.

That's right, and I'm glad.

Now Trump is filling the federal bench, and there's nothing you can do.

Do you consider what Biden supported as stonewalling?
