How did people get gas before gas stations?
Before there were filling stations, consumers bought gasoline out of a barrel at the grocery or hardware store. But the new market for gas and consumer desire to buy gas more easily soon led to a landscape dotted with gas stations—more than 200,000 by 1935.
The democrats make it political with their lies and deceptions and propaganda
It's the market that dictates what consumers demand, not the government. If you don't want an EV, don't buy one. Tesla is dropping their MSRP on their products now and competitors are following suit. Now's a great time to buy an EV and I can give you top dollar on your trade if you'd like to trade in your gas-guzzler right now. Not only will you save money on gas you can take advantage of our rebates and government tax credits. <wink>.
You are wrong here. The government is dictating you buy an EV. California and 14 other states now have adopted laws that end all ICE vehicle sales in their state in the next decade or less. That's government fiat, not market pressure. At the same time, the government is giving subsidies and tax breaks to buy EV's while tightening rules on ICE vehicles to strangle their continued use and raise their cost. Again, that is purely government forcing the market towards EV's.
It's clear that if consumers were left to decide for themselves whether to buy and EV or not, few would do so.
Also, I have shown here in the last few days that you don't save money over gasoline with an EV. Oh, and government using OPM to bribe you to buy one doesn't count when you are taking that into account.
The government cannot dictate what consumers buy. If you want a Hummer in CA, buy a Hummer. According to your post, you can enjoy one for at least 10 years. And even after that - if consumers decide they want to keep buying Hummers they can vote to change the law.
They can if they outlaw the alternatives. In California, after 2035 you will not be able to buy anything else, even if you go to another state, California won't allow you to register the car in their state so you can't get around that. In fact, the way that law is written, if you live in another state and own a car that was made in 2035 or afterwards and it isn't an EV, you won't be able to register or use it in California if you moved there.
That is government dictating the market.
We are NOT a dictatorship. If consumers want Hummers in CA, then auto manufacturers will start giving millions to politicians in CA who are willing to change the law. And then the consumers will vote it into law. <---- This is how the world has worked since money has been in politics.
The market is consumer driven, my friend.
That clearly isn't the case in California. If it were, businesses would have greased politicians there long ago to prevent their leaving due to government regulation.
You enumerated your lies, not the Dems.
There is no problem for an EV owner getting his car charged. That is a fact. Could you cobble a scenario together that would make it seem that way? Sure, if dishonesty does not bother you.
