There are places, like 90% of that route, that will never have charging stations along it.

Duh! Speed and handling go hand in hand. Unless you're going in a straight line, your car better handle well while at high speeds.
My Hyundai handles pretty well for what it is, but it's no match for my Cobra.

I never utilize the super acceleration myself, I tend to drive like an old lady. But I know it's there and it is worth an experience or two.

We were test driving a Tesla years ago and the salesman told my wife to really TROMP on the accelerator and it was unreal! I've never literally had my head pulled back in a car but that did it.

More like use up the supplies of lithium and cobalt, making both of these minerals very expensive (and the car correspondingly more expensive). It's really self correcting. The EV would simply get too expensive too bother with.
