The Japanese meteorological agency has compared Hagibis to the 1958 typhoon that hit eastern and central Japan, killing more than 1,200 people

Rain happens. Typhoons happen. Weather happens.

More global warming fires ravage California today and yesterday.

Define "global warming fire". Define "global warming".

How is a "global warming" fire different from other fires?

Maybe the Oligarchy of Kaliphornia should properly manage their forests??

Conservative MPs are almost five times more likely to vote against climate action than legislators from other parties, a Guardian analysis of 16 indicative parliamentary divisions over the past decade has revealed.

The Tories also registered many more donations, shares, salaries, gifts and tickets to sporting events from fossil fuel companies, petrostates, aviation companies and climate sceptics, according to declarations made in the parliamentary record of MPs’ interests between 2008 and 2019.

** Define "climate action".
** We don't burn fossils for fuel.
** Define "climate skeptic".

OK - so this is an analysis based upon UK politicians - not the sort of scrutiny that the media are permitted to engage in elsewhere- but I dare say that it's relevant world-wide.
Moral; If you care for your environment and its climate DON'T VOTE CONSERVATIVE. Anywhere. Ever.
Bigotry.

I care about our environment. I do not care about LMS denying hoaxes, however...

Apparent mass fish kill spotted at Lake Pamamaroo near Menindee, sparks fears for deadly summer

Another mass fish kill event has been spotted in far western NSW, nine months after millions of fish were found dead on the nearby banks of the Darling River.

Key points:
There have been over 600 fish kill events in NSW over the past 30 years
The state government says to expect more this summer as drought intensifies
The federal government pledged $300,000 to help states manage mass fish deaths
New aerial footage appeared to show thousands of dead fish at Lake Pamamaroo in the Menindee Lakes System, near Broken Hill.

The NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) is yet to confirm the new kill and said in a statement it would be investigating, but the remote location would make verifying the mass kill extremely difficult.

The department said mass kills were more likely to happen throughout the summer as the ongoing drought placed increased stress on aquatic populations.

The sight of millions of dead fish floating belly-up and rotting in the sun, prompted desperate pleas by fishers and farmers and shocked Australians last summer.

Storms: they kill people. People die. They don't need storms to die.

My son is in Japan, Fukuoka to be exact. He said that the foreign papers were sensationalising the typhoon's effects. He reads Japanese fluently and says the national papers are much less hysterical. To give you some idea Yokohama is at the epicentre of the storms yet the Japan v Scotland rugby match was allowed to go on. Bloody good game as well, Japan kicked the shit out of Scotland 28-21.

You're an asshole, maggot. Evidently;

Tens of thousands of troops and rescue workers worked in Japan on Monday to fight floods and help stranded residents after one of the most powerful typhoons to hit the country in six decades left as many as 36 people dead.

Typhoon Hagibis - which means "speed" in the Philippine language, Tagalog - left the capital, Tokyo, relatively unscathed, but caused serious damage to surrounding regions, as rivers burst their banks and the torrential rain triggered landslides.

More than 100,000 rescuers - including 31,000 troops - clawed their way through debris from Sunday night into Monday morning to reach people trapped by the floods or whose homes had been buried.

Authorities warned more mudslides were possible with more rain forecast.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Again. Doesn't surprise me in the least.

Oooo. Scotland is NOT going to be happy about THAT! :D
