"Grrr I hate it so much when loans are forgiven"

You know, like Trump is doing with attacking the Capitol, declaring White Supremacy and stealing whatever he likes from the White House...to the applause of his JPP fans. Is that sane, in your opinion, LV?

So you're trying to compare me wanted to get rid of the police to Nazis trying to overturn the election?

When cops left the streets of Atlanta, the crime rate dropped.

Same thing happened in NYC too: In New York, major crime complaints fell when cops took a break from ‘proactive policing’

There was even a study done from which I am pulling a lot of inspiration for my position: Evidence that curtailing proactive policing can reduce major crime

Awesome. Why don't the citizens of Atlanta vote to ban the police? Are they fucking stupid or crazy?

So you always do this...instead of talking about the topic, you foist an impossible task on me as your way of distracting from your vacuous position.

It's your way of getting out of the debate, and I see right fucking through it.

You're not as clever as you think you are.

Yes, conventional wisdom is that most people are good

Well, they're not.

Most people are not good.

We know that because we literally just lived through 2 years of people acting like trash because they were asked to wear a mask or get a tiny little shot.

Obama thought people were inherently good too and they rewarded him by questioning his place of birth.

People are the worst.

So if the cops didn't shoot this guy dead in his bed, we would have anarchy in the streets?

Ohio police fatally shoot unarmed Black man in bed during failed arrest attempt, video shows
https://www.yahoo.com/news/ohio-police-fatally-shoot-unarmed-003757956.html

We're a nation of 330M Americans with about 900,000 police officers.

Should a reasonable person expect that random events would happen? Even if the chance is "One in a Million"....which means 330 chances in our nation, should we fear random chance?

That shooting was wrong, but not the basis of banning police as you've suggested.

We're a nation of 330M Americans with about 900,000 police officers.

And of those 900,000 cops, how many are bad apples?

Should a reasonable person expect that random events would happen?

Interesting that yet another Black person is shot and killed by police, but you call it a "random event".

It's not random when it happens regularly.

Even if the chance is "One in a Million"....which means 330 chances in our nation, should we fear random chance?

What are you talking about?

When have police ever prevented crime? They don't. The crime chases them, not vice versa. A heavy handed police presence invites criminal challenges, it doesn't dissuade them. And the more over the top the police get, the more over the top the criminals get.

The cops are more responsible for the breakdown of the social order than they are responsible for protecting it, which they have no Constitutional obligation to do.

So cops are under no obligation to protect you or the country from descending into anarchy; that's why they only look out for themselves and do things like fake a sick out because two of them got charged with killing an unarmed person.

That shooting was wrong, but not the basis of banning police as you've suggested.

Why not?

How many times have police killed unarmed people in the last year? How about the last 2 years? How about the last 10 years?

And of those cops who killed unarmed people, how many were turned in by fellow cops? NONE.

Not even Chauvin was turned in by his fellow cops, and he would have never been arrested, charged, or convicted if it hadn't been for the bystanders who were recording it. If those bystanders were not there recording it, Chavin would still be a cop today. And do you remember from the video of the threats those same cops made to all the people watching them kill George Floyd?

Even the slave patrols, which are the forbearers of every single police department in the US, didn't kill Black people at the rates cops do today.

It's crazy to me that anyone would WANT to keep police funded at this point.

What are you talking about?
Realistic solutions and ideas to help our nation move forward.

Most people, like you, hate our country so much that they only want to tear it down.

IMHO, most of them are doing it out of pain, not logic.

What is your pain, LV?

Realistic solutions and ideas to help our nation move forward.

Getting rid of cops is just as realistic a solution as continuing to let them run amok.

Most people, like you, hate our country so much that they only want to tear it down.

I hate the racist, misogynist, anti-Semitic, homophobic, and bigoted institutions that prop up an entire class of people undeserving of what they are exploiting.

If you think that means I hate America then you're admitting America is institutionally racist, misogynist, anti-Semitic, homophobic and bigoted.

Again, Flash, what is the date of that post? 4/27/20.

And again, Flash, what was the date of the first time I said "Trump and the GOP will try to cancel the election"? 4/8/20.

So again, Flash, is time linear and did Trump try to cancel the election?

You claimed you did not say he would cancel the election but you lied. And, you were wrong. The election was not cancelled. The NY primary was only cancelled by NY law and not decisions made by Trump. So, you were wrong about both and lied about what you said--regardless of the date.

First you said he would "try," then you said he would cancel the election. The date does not change what you said.

No, you just dropped the whole post and then when confronted on that, postured that what I had originally said was "irrelevant" somehow, but it only seems it was irrelevant to you because it undermines everything you're saying about me.

So I said back on 4/8/20 that I thought Trump and the GOP would try to cancel the election, and then the post on 4/27/20, nearly three weeks later, was showing exactly how they were trying to do it.

So they absolutely tried to cancel the election -That isn't in dispute-, and thankfully they didn't succeed.

Yes, thankfully they failed. I told you they would not cancel it and you said they would. Be honest--you were wrong. It doesn't undermine anything I said about you. You lied--you said he would cancel the election and then claimed you did not say it until I posted your post and a link.

You claimed because I did not originally post a link that I was editing your post--another lie. I posted your link exactly as you wrote it. You said I could be banned for editing your post--but I proved I edited nothing and did not "drop" the "try" from your post. You just denied you said it. Rather than just admitting you said it you turned it into (another) personal attack on me. You don't debate politics, you make it a personal grudge battle. Immature.

Classic cognitive dissonance; he wants to believe one thing but can't logically defend it. In short, his desire for a RW America but he knows, under Trump, it'd look like this:

Even Festinger gave up on the whole cognitive dissonance thing. You've never seen me defend anything Trump did.

Even Festinger gave up on the whole cognitive dissonance thing. You've never seen me defend anything Trump did.

I'm not a fucking lawyer, and this isn't a court of law. You have your beliefs and I have mine.
