Guns

The homicide rate has certainly decreased from its peak in the early '90s. It hasn't been this low since the '50s. Yet the control freaks keep screaming about an "epidemic" of gun violence. Purest emotion, based on their paranoia about guns, not reality.

Reality, stupid fuck. 40,000 gun deaths in the US last year. Who is in second place?

40,000 gun deaths last year. Argue that.
Again, you only see that as a monolith. In reality, something that you seem to have little acquaintance with, there are many different problems there, with many different probable solutions. You, being obsessed with guns, see only one problem and only one solution which is doomed to failure. Suicides, for just one example. Japan has very strict gun control and a very high suicide rate. Australia's suicide rate was dropping before the NFA was implemented, and it continued to fall at roughly the same rate afterwards. Their stricter gun control had no measurable impact on anything.
A large part of our problem is criminal gangs, largely due to our drug laws.
Another part is domestic violence. We haven't been very successful at raising people who can handle the stresses of marriage. None of that is anything that stricter gun laws will ameliorate, much less solve.

Why does any society need to be saturated with guns?
If guns were the problem that you imagine they are, things would be a lot worse than they are. You can't point to a single gun control law that has ever made things better.

There are no 'Brits'. Sensible people avoid guns, because they kill people. If there was any point in the silly bloody things we'd have all attended President Trumps's funeral long since.
George 111 was a far preferable fat German!

With that ignorant rendition, sensible people would also avoid cars. Why would you wish the (assassination) funeral of a country's president that had no effect on you, stupid foreigner?

Paranoid and ignorant people avoid guns, because they believe that guns will jump up on their own and kill people. What they need to avoid is people who will kill people. Guns aren't necessary to kill people.

They work much faster than most things, and kill far more when made universally available.

Spare me your make believe “if/would” bullshit.

When was the last time you saw a shooting with a machine gun?

Yep, only to be outdone by 19 third world countries. Honduras, Venezuala, El Salvador, Guyana. What a laughable argument.

Cherry picking fallacy. Homicide rates have little to do with the presence of guns. In just two States in the United States, Louisiana and Alaska, which have minimal gun control laws, and lots of guns, Louisiana has a very high per capita homicide rate, while Alaska is quite low.
The Territory of California has extensive gun control laws, yet while they have high a rate it is not as high as the State of Louisiana and is much higher than the State of Alaska.

Really? Guns suppress violent crime? What fucking fantasy world do you live in?

They actually do in many cases. Robbery and rape, for example. As far as homicide, they don't. The per capita homicide rate seems to have little correlation with the presence of guns or gun control laws. Source: FBI, CIA,UN

Where did I say anything about homicide rates?

There are plenty of ways to kill people besides guns, but not many ways that are as effective for personal defense. People kill, not guns. Arson and bombs kill quite effectively. The opposition to guns is based on ignorance and paranoia, not reason.
