While this is certainly true, the real kicker was when Trump announced "no taxes on social security." The always-silent but always-voting seniors will make damn sure that happens.

It won't really be half the country, though it will likely be half of the Likely Voters and a few Registered Voters that will vote for Trump. Though this idea that they are enamored of Trump is a bit absurd. Most of them will be voting against Kamala, not "for" Trump.

For half of those voting for him, I'd say the appeal is, he isn't Kamala Harris. That is, a good portion of Trump voters fear Harris more than Trump. On the obverse, I'd say there's a much smaller portion of Americans who are voting for Harris for much the same reason.

Agreed on the specifics, but since Fox and the other MSM keep pushing how close the race is, that's the common belief.

The specifics are different. Notice the significant difference between the percentage of Independent voters in 2016 and in 2020. It shrunk, IIRC, from about 5% to less than 2%. Why?

I strongly dislike the idea of "lesser of two evils" and have voted Libertarian after 2012. I'm a strong believer that all Americans should vote. This goes back to our public education discussion since informed voters are better voters.

MAGAts will vote like MAGAts. LW Loonies will vote like LW Loonies. It's what the Independents think that will rule the day regardless how hard the Party of Trump seeks to steal it.

IMO, all hate is fear based. For American men, mostly elderly men, that fear is often death based. Is that your fear, Terry?

Do you have regrets and fear final judgment? If so, why not just make amends? Contact the people and say, "I'm sorry"?
