Which is the sole reason the Senate doesn't balls up and force the Declaration clause. They always get to say crap like this and pretend retardation.

I can't believe that they would do this at the same time they are pretending to be trying to force Bush out of Iraq.

No, the problem with AHZ is that there are some kernels of truth in his claims, there really are in all conspiracy theories, I think? And so because he gets so crazy with them, he ends up making others look crazy when they bring up simple facts.

I'm just messing with you. AIPAC wields a lot of influence but I don't think it reaches anywhere near what most of the Zionist conspiracy theorists believe.
 
What y'all fail to realize is....

When Congress approves or authorizes use of military force against another nation...this is in fact a 'Declared War'...Iran must and will go down...all the crying in the world by pacifists will not alter the outcome!

Darla, it was about at this point during the build-up to the Iraq war that I changed into a Libertarian. I wanted a smaller government so 'we the people' actually have a say. As you can see, there is a lot more talk than there is action when it comes to politicians, and I can't stand any of them.

But it isn't. It's not 2/3 of the Senate requirement, it isn't many things. A true Declaration actually begins the use of many laws that "authorization" under the Constitutional End-Run called the "War Powers Act" does not. Such as Sedition laws.

This is NOT the same thing as a declaration, it is an "excuse" for wimpy-assed Senators who will later stand in 'shock' and 'dismay' at how he 'used' their vote.

I can't stand them either, but I am not a believer in the free market cures, and the social safety net, in fact, the modern welfare state, are huge moral issues for me.

Well, I suppose when I think about it, it really isn't that shocking... because you are right... they will simply claim they "didn't know Bush was going to bomb Iran because of this".... moveon.org will tell their idiotic followers that it is all the fault of Bush and the Reps... A few Dem Congressmen will "apologize" for "being fooled by Bush yet again" and the majority of idiots on the left will eat it.... hook, line and sinker.

70+ for 20+ against...I do believe that makes up the 2/3 vote requirement...you may use semantics all day long but it is still a declared war!

The thing is, none of the things die-hard, extremist libertarians fight for will ever come to fruition even with power. Our government needs to be scaled back and adding legitmacy to a party like the Libertarians will start forcing the Dems and Reps to start being a little more responsible in order to compete.
