Is the Bible Literally True? No, of Course Not!

You just continue to play games. You expect me to believe that the concept of health is so baffling for you that you can't say there's a difference in health between a stage 4 cancer patient minutes from death, and a young, athletic, disease and ailment free 20 year old?
You just continue to play games. You expect me to believe that you conveniently cannot unambiguously define that which you insist is so obvious?

Your open display of dishonesty is impressive and embarrassing.

In any event, you bear the full responsibility for defining your terms. You have never defined your terms "health" and "climate", upon which your arguments depend, despite repeated requests for you to do so. Instead, you merely make lame excuses for why you refuse to support your arguments and why your refusal to clarify your position is somehow my fault.

That's one way of saying I'm exposing you.
You expect me to believe that you conveniently cannot unambiguously define that which you insist is so obvious?
I could, but it's more entertaining to watch you pretend to be confused so you don't have to admit your clearly flawed logic about climate.
Your open display of dishonesty is impressive and embarrassing.
Deflecting won't help you.[/QUOTE]

If you were in ANY non-political situation, you wouldn't be pretending to be confused. If you had young kids and they asked any of the questions Ive asked, you'd answer without a second thought.

So you are a literalist? (You know there are many sects of Christianity that are NOT literalist, right?)

I know that most denominations of Christianity, including my own are not literalists........in fact most of the folks I know who insist the Bible MUST be read literally are atheists.......

its obvious
Nope. It is not obvious. I'm asking you to explain the evangelical nature of atheists.

.....these threads are ALWAYS started by atheists
Nope. These threads are started by every type of poster.

......you're the only ones here who preach your beliefs.....
Everyone who has beliefs to preach, preaches his beliefs. Atheists, however, have no theistic beliefs to preach. So about what you are speaking?

I didn't change any words. In one account, Jesus tells his disciples where to prepare the Passover meal, they eat it together, he's arrested and dies the next day. In the other account, he is dead on the day before - the day of preparation.

Changing the Bible isn't going to work, Sock.

I'm going to post the relevant verses from Mark and John, and highlight the ones that I'm specifically referencing, so you can tell me exactly what I'm getting wrong:

From Mark 14:

The Last Supper
12 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?”

13 So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. 14 Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ 15 He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.”

16 The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover
.

From Mark 15: This took place after they ate the Passover meal, since Passover began the night before:

The Crucifixion of Jesus

15:22–32pp—Mt 27:33–44; Lk 23:33–43; Jn 19:17–24

21 A certain man from Cyrene,o Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus,p was passing by on his way in from the country, and they forced him to carry the cross.q 22 They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha (which means “the place of the skull”). 23 Then they offered him wine mixed with myrrh,r but he did not take it. 24 And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lotss to see what each would get.

25 It was nine in the morning when they crucified him. 26 The written notice of the charge against him read: the king of the jews.

The same account from John, where there is no mention of the Disciples asking Jesus where to prepare the Passover meal. There is also no mention of Jesus doing the "This is my body....." speech.

John 13:

Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet
13 It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.

2 The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. 3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

John 19:

13 When Pilate heard this, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judge’s seat at a place known as the Stone Pavement (which in Aramaic is Gabbatha). 14 It was the day of Preparation of the Passover; it was about noon.

“Here is your king,” Pilate said to the Jews.

So, again, John specifically says that he was already arrested by noon on the day of Preparation of the Passover. Mark specifically says Jesus gave instructions for the Passover meal (the day of Preparation), ate the Passover meal with his disciples and was then arrested and crucified at 9am on Passover. What am I manipulating or making up?

Changing the Bible doesn't work, Sock.

The three posters (you, Into and Ibda) all talk EXACTLY ALIKE. the ONLY people you agree with are one of those three. You all hold the same BIZARRO shit-brain theories. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck it is probably a duck.

You are describing your own socks, Sock. You really are confused.

gfm7175 and I are both Christians, and we both know the Bible. We will certainly quote from the same scripture, and point out your attempts to change it.
IBDaMann is not Christian. Despite this, he understands the Bible far better than YOU apparently do.

Science is a set of falsifiable theories. No matter who describes them, they are the same.
It is YOU, Sock, that denies them...and you deny them in exactly the same way for all of your accounts.
It is YOU, Sock, that denies English, and doesn't seem to know it. All of your accounts make the same grammatical errors, use the same meaningless buzzwords, try the same kinds of semantic fallacies, pivot the same way when you get trapped, and try to blame others for YOUR problems in the same way.

You make the same kinds of cliche fallacies as well...the same kind of circular argument fallacies, the same kind of inversion fallacies, the same kind of redefinition fallacies, the same kind of buzzword fallacies, constantly repeat questions that have already been answered in the same way, etc.

You cannot blame others for your Socks.

Indeed! I ONLY agree with ITN and IBD. I've NEVER ever ever agreed with any other poster ever on this forum ever... EVER! :rofl2:
I've agreed with some others from time to time.

T. A. Gardner gets it right much of the time, for example. He's got a good head on his shoulders, and shows excellent experience as an electrician.
There are, of course, several others.
