Isn't it fascinating how the outrage meter is re-calibrated by who receives the threat, and the perception of who sent it? Apparently today there was much presidential sympathy for the victims of the synagogue massacre, for instance, but little for the addressees of this week's pipe bomb mailings.

What "sympathy" do DEMOCRATS who didn't even see the fake bombs in person deserve?

It was the "internationalist" like FDR who thought Hitler was an existential threat to global stability and western liberal Democracy.

FDR refused to help Jews fleeing the Holocaust, and FDR did not ask Congress to declare war on Germany, stalker.

TBT I don't believe the president is capable of sympathy or empathy. I think he would have privately (or tweeted-ly) gloated if one of those Dems had been killed or injured. Something like "if they had installed explosives detectors at their (house, office), this never would have happened."

Your fantasies are fascinating.

My votes don't change.
I vote for the furthest left candidates in the Democratic Primaries.
I vote for the straight Democratic ticket, without even looking at names, in the general election.
I've done this in EVERY election since 1968,
only because there was no eighteen-year vote yet in 1964.

So while I wouldn't have stupidly used the words "fake bomb hoax,"
that's my answer to the question.

Thought for sure you were the synagogue shooter given your love of guns, location, user name, and political persuasion.

I'd give up "thinking" if I were you Mr. Libtard, you haven't a clue. I have Jewish friends (grew up with them) and am not racist, religious or nationality biased. Yep, I own guns, I hunt and shoot them frequently, I learned to respect them as a child, they are not toys. I live nearly 240 miles from Pittsburgh, why drive that far when there are plenty of assholes close to me? Username? What does that have to do with anything? And, ahh yes, political persuasion? You're still alive, aren't you?
You have me "pegged" wrong, but then you're a not-so-bright liberal...

There's no question that the WW2 vets fought to keep the Nazis from conquering Europe. It was a worthy cause even though they weren't actually protecting this country.

And the Vietnam vets fought people halfway around the world away despite the phony reasons for being there. This country was under no imminent threat from the Vietnamese.

Let's not forget there was a draft at that time that forced even the ones who disagreed with the war to fight and die.

Nope. We entered WWII because we were attacked by Japan (read some history). Pearl Harbor ring a bell?
Why do you disrespect Vietnam vets? Don't forget it was a Democrat that got us involved in that war.

A good insight.

The "nationalists" of the 1930 were the isolationists who said we should stay out of European problems and focus only on America.

It was the "internationalist" like FDR who thought Hitler was an existential threat to global stability and western liberal Democracy.

?????? Duh!

You have the same initials as your fellow NRA gun nutter.....and disposition.....and location......

It wasn't only Japan who America declared war on due to Pearl Harbor

And if you want to get technical, you can trace the US involvement in Vietnam back to Ike and the withdraw of the French

Rightys are so wrapped up in Repub/Triump made up crap, that they cannot be reached with logic and facts.
Steve Schmidt, a real long term, highly respected Republican, who actually ran Repub presidential campaigns, is fleeing from the same insanity that you happily embrace. Guy sends out 14 bombs and because they were flawed, you rightys hand wave them away. The bomber is facing 60 years. Trumps rhetoric is stirring up action and feeelings in some people, that we were all better off being suppressed. Now rightys across the country are avbusing foreigners and people of color. This is not a better America. Trump is sucking us down a rathole.

I'm aware of Pearl Harbor. We entered the war in Europe 4 days after we entered into war with Japan. We lost more men in the war in Europe.

That was despicable of you to say I disrespected Vietnam vets. As a pacifist I disrespect the leaders who involve the US in wars while sitting safely in their homes and offices, not the people who were forced to endanger their lives for stupid reasons like the domino theory.

You're a real piece of work, RB 60. Learn how to read and understand what people are saying, instead of inserting your opinion and claiming it's mine.

What you "forgot" to mention is that FDR neither helped the victims of the Holocaust or asked Congress to declare war on Nazi Germany until after Hitler declared war on the US.

That was terrible about FDR and Holocaust victims. And he wasn't the only one, supposedly the Pope turned his back on them too.
