I don't know where you live, but here in Colorado, DAs are expected to have actual evidence before bringing somebody from Thailand at the expense of the taxpayer. People have higher expectations of the intelligence and forknowledge of their DA than this idiot brought to bear. Since she was elected she has had one blunder after another on this case specifically. You'd think she'd be more careful after she had to change her name to get elected last time.

No, I am saying that she purposefully didn't follow the advise of other Prosecutors and insure she had the evidence to show actual cause to bring him to Colorado for trial. Instead she jumped the gun AGAIN, did something stupid and cost all of us a ton of money. Unless you think it is okay to waste Fed Tax dollars on the ICE agents that went over to bring him back, on Business Class tickets, Champagne (yes he had several drinks) on the flight, extra protection in LA jail, Extra protection in Colorado Jail, all to do a test they could have done in Asia with little fanfare and no embarrassment to her office and employees....
She could have ruled him out before making an international spectacle of her office. At the same time informing Thailand of the problem to insure he didn't get hired as a teacher and that they were watching for him...

Honestly it took the media about 15 minutes to begin to cast real doubt as to the actual guilt of this guy. All she had to do was research just a little bit. It didn't take long to find an estranged ex-wife who hated him who also grudgingly admitted it was their first Christmas after their marriage and she knows he was in Atlanta with her and the newborn baby...
Who's defending ANYONE on this...you are the only one that seems that up in arms on it...must be because it involves your state?

How do you figure the Boulder DA made a mistake? They had to fully investigate this sicko and the DA is not responsable for the DNA, Id say thats the responsability of the crime lab. IN Florida at least the Crime lab is the duty of the Department of Law Enforcement under the responsability of the governor!
How do I figure? Okay...
1. The Boulder DA could hire a PI to go to Thailand and get castoff samples to find out whether this guy is actually the killer.
2. The Boulder DA could actually speak with more than the Journalist presenting him as the killer to find out whether this was a realistic scenario, let alone a possibility.
3. The Boulder DA could look with a little suspicion on the Journalist that had already previously put forward another person who was also ruled out in an overzealous effort to clear his friends.
And those are only the most obvious things that should have been done BEFORE bringing this man back from Thailand.
Instead the Boulder DA..
1. Believed a man who has made a fortune on movies and books about this case, who had previously put forward another faux "killer" in a movie, at the same time as grooming this Karr dude to be later presented as the same.
2. Didn't even do rudimentary due diligence to find out whether this was a realistic scenario. It only took the press 1 hour to find an estranged ex-wife who knew where he was on that day.
3. Spent Hundreds of Thousands of tax dollars on the most extravagent DNA test ever.
