Kasich vs. Sanders would have been such a great campaign

I did not support the invasion of the First Gulf War, either

What I am repeating here is the analysis by military instructors that I have read, who claim that though the removal of Saddam from Kuwait, the aftermath of the mission was a failure. The coalition left Saddam in power which seem to embolden him thinking he was the victor. He went on to defy the UN, tried to assassinate Bush and tried to reinvade Kuwait. By ending the war before chastising Saddam, Bush relegated the US to a decade of presence in ME trying to deal with Saddam which led to the sanctions of the Clinton era and eventually to the second Gulf War.

For my own understanding I'm trying to comprehend why it would have been better to let Saddam take Kuwait and do nothing than kick him out of Kuwait but not take him out?

Sorry you can't accept the historical facts, Thingy, but thats your problem, not mine....

Saddam was ousted, the Iraqi army was no more, in 3 weeks,....... dems just the facts.....

The shooting was a total success, what followed, the occupation, a total disaster.....

I'm so tired of this apologist, hairsplitting nonsense. We were in Iraq for nearly a decade. People were dying for nearly a decade.

You hacks will never admit it. I get it, on a psychological level - to be that incredibly wrong on something that hurt so many people. It must be incomprehensible for you. Denial like yours is just a coping mechanism, and I get that.

Drove him out, but left him in power, that is not a success in my books, it was an incomplete mission.

Well, is was a stipulation at the time, that we agreed to, that we would not invade Baghdad or oust Saddam that held the coalition together....

But I haven't denied anything. I'm stating historical facts, reports from the NY Times and Wiki....its all factual.....

Can't you really separate the war and occupation in your little narrow mind....I guess not....

The same way you can't follow the timeline of what lead up to the actual war....for you, it all starts with the invasion and how we got there is not important to you.....
yet, thats the most important part.....

Its like ignoring the events from 1936 until 12/7/1941 when discussing WWII.....

Maybe, if Bush had been more resolute in letting Saddam know that invading Kuwait was a bad idea in the first place, going after him would not have been necessary.

We were also sold a bill of goods in the build up to that war as well, the incubator babies and that after Kuwait, Saddam was invading Saudi Arabia, all lies.

Wouldn't that have been war mongering?

That doesn't answer the question I'm trying to understand. How would letting Saddam invade Kuwait and doing nothing about it been better than kicking him out but not taking him out?

Sanders is unelectable. He didn't even hold down a job until he was nearly 40, when he got himself elected mayor after decades of being the neighborhood raving unemployed irritant. He wrote some really messed up things in his "youth" (over 30). And there's a lot more. He lived in a hovel with a dirt floor when he wasn't mooching off his current lover by crashing with them. I mean, this guy is basically your worst nightmare of a date ever. It's funny, being active on the left, I have known guys like him believe me. Loser from a mile away. Only Vermont could have given us this guy, the way only Alabama could give us Jefferson Beauregard Sessions.

I love the Bernie bros, best encompassed by the spoiled brat who screamed out at a Bernie rally "150 thousand, columbia grad school", during their prayer meeting when they all scream and cry to Preacher Bernie about their college bills. Think about that. White. Male. And privileged enough to be going to Columbia University GRADUATE SCHOOL. And this guy wants free college - send the bill to Darla! Guess who is going to be eagerly voting in 15 years to slash Granny Darla's social security benefits, cause you know, everyone's got to have some skin in the game and we can't afford all of this, my taxes are too high! That's right! Mr. Bernie Bro Columbia Graduate School, Ph.D.

Anyway, I don't give a shit about all of the tears from the bernie bros, and the cries of "hypocrite" from the amnosexuals, the latter of which have no beliefs at all. I love being old. I have become grumpy and best of all I don't give a fuck about any of the usual suspects.

I know so many of these guys on the left who are screaming "facist!" at Hillary now and actually saying they're going to vote for trump, or that, they're thinking of it, or that, and this is my favorite, the neocons love Hillary and hate Trump...like Trump is a peacenik or something. Meanwhile no one really knows what he is. He was before the Iraq war before he was 'against it from the beginning". Unfortunately, in my own "youthful" phase (hey if Bernie is making youthtful mistakes at 30 plus, me too!) I was in with these guys. I now look back on them and can only compare them to shamefucks.

I've also gotten a bit more conservative as I've gotten older. Hey guess what? terrorists ARE trying to kill us. That's right Nancyboys bernie bros. They really, really are. I'm only really left on race, woman's rights, and climate change. A lot of the other stuff, I feel like, cry me a river you little liberal cry baby. Free college? Free community college I will go for. Anything else? Get a freaking job and pay for it.

I have seen them all crying all over twitter and issuing threats...Greenwald, Scahill...a host of others both known and unknown. It's almost as funny as watching the Republicans destroy their party. I don't know which is better. I do know that out of the ashes, rises Hillary Clinton.

Madam President to you.

WOW....is this the REAL DARLA ?

And worthy of a country as great as America.

Two principled candidates, offering two completely different approaches and viewpoints, running positive, message-oriented campaigns.

It's such a shame that this option was presented to primary voters, and we are going to get Trump/Clinton instead. This is going to be the ugliest campaign we've ever seen, from two very unprincipled candidates, who will spend very little time on message and most on hurling negatives toward the other side.
It's a damning condemnation of the ignorance of the American public. That lunatic fringe and pseudo-celebrity candidates succeed where principled public servants languish in the background.

And for the Record in a Kasich vs. Sanders scenario I'd vote for Kasich.

Here we go... We haven't even go to the point where Hillary is the nominee and not wanting her is equivalent to "hating on the first female president." Not wanting Hillary as president has little to nothing to do with the fact that she is a woman. But you guys like to make it all about race and misogyny when it suits you.
"You guys?!" LOL

I know what you meant LR but that may have not been the most well phrased sentence. LOL

Both Kasich and Sanders will do nothing about the millions of illegals in the country nor secure the borders.....that seems to be an important subject for a hell of a lot of voters.....

Do you think 12 million plus illegal, non citizens, undocumented people have a detrimental effect on the country, or is your view just the opposite ?

the point is you are a massive hypocrite. you hated the iraq war, but you support someone that voted for it.. a Senator.. who received the same intelligence as Sanders, but he was able to see through it.

You support gay rights but you ignore how clinton was a conservative on this issue through and through, whereas bernie has been supporting the LGBT community since the 70's and 80s way before it was ever popular.

You complain about the big banks but you don't mind clinton cozying up to goldman sachs, wheras bernie is against the big banks, against big money in politics, against super PAC's

bernie stands for most of what you stand for, but you wont support him because you are a dumb retard
You're so sexy when Desh gets you wound up. :)

they win in the battle of ideas

civil liberties
being against the police state
for the legalizing of many drugs and being against the drug war
against nation building
gay rights
against massive incarceration

all ideas coopted by the major parties these days, or large sections of the american people

you're welcome.
Not really...they just talk about them. Other take action but not libertarians.

Lorax and I had many a discussion back then as I was torn, but finally settled on not supporting the war to the tune of not voting for GW the second time around because of it. To Lorax's credit he was never for it.
I was opposed to the Iraq war from the get go. Disregard the bill of good W sold on Iraq his radical policy of "pre-emption"was unsound and indefensible as it was clear that Iraq was not a clear and present danger to our national security at that time. Thus his decision to go to war in Iraq was an immoral one without justification.

you know the old Churchill saying... if you aren't young and liberal you have no heart, if you aren't conservative when old you have no brain.

Although you do support people paying for your healthcare. So I think you forget a few things on your list.

Also what's an amnosexual. im not googling.

Just goes to show you women like darla have few if any principles.. she is suddenly "conservative" on many issues (seriously when has she ever described herself as such in all the years on here) as soon as clinton is running

big money in politics? nationbuilding? nope.. doesn't matter anymore when she has the chance to get a woman into the whitehouse.
