Hello Controlled Opposition
Yeah, but that's just TV, not real life.
It isn't just tv. Minds, particularly young minds, are molded by media.

Actually, it's the other way around. The Left adopts a word then abuses it to the point where it becomes seen as a pejorative rather than positive. The Left realizes that the word now has serious negative connotations associated with it making them look bad. They then move to a new term to replace it.
A perfect example of this is the word "liberal." A liberal decades ago, a century or more ago, was seen as a open-minded, thoughtful person, who was accepting of new ideas and discussion of those. It morphed into a pejorative when the Left adopted it as their label.

So, the Left has to be a moving target. They went to Progressive instead of Liberal as a result. On the radical Right, the Nazis are still there just as they were half-a-century or more ago. The terms and labels of them haven't changed. Now, Progressive is becoming a pejorative and the Left appears to be moving to "Woke" instead. But in the electronics age information moves so rapidly that Woke is already getting to be pejorative in itself. I suspect the Left will run out of labels to call themselves.
It isn't those on the Right making the Left change their labels and terms, it's the actions of the Left--self inflicted--that do. The Left says they are liberal then act ill-liberally. They say they're Progressive then act regressively. They did it to themselves, and continue to do so.
A fantastic display of convoluted logic solely from the perspective of a MAGA minion.
Your version of social history. Your viewpoint based on your revision of how people define words. Case in point, YOU make the separation of "left" and "liberal" instead of just acknowledging they were just two ways to label a political party or social/political stance. YOU claim "morphing" as if it was a public thing, as opposed to the reality of redefinition by right wing media with acquiesce from the MSM.
See, one has to acknowledge that the propaganda campaign 20 years ago of calling the MSM "liberal bias" was totally false. The coverage of the Iraq "war" proved that.
Like I said, "woke" is just a cutesy little tag/slang used by the current generation. It's been done better, but this gets a rise out of folk like you and makes a buck for those writing books and academic treatises, so I guess it serves a purpose. For me, "awakened" is more accurate, but not as catchy or as easy to incorporate in 10 second sound bites.
Hello Controlled Opposition,
OK, no dispute there, but there is far more to spreading appreciation of diversity than TV programming.
It should be taught in schools. Cultural diversity appreciation. That would have to include teaching our history of the many problems our country has encountered associated with mixing different cultures and backgrounds. We teach what went wrong in the past and how we think things ought to be done differently going forward.
For example. All schools in America need to teach black history, the good and the bad, the origins and horrors of white supremacy, why it is wrong, how racism is cross-generational, and how the young should take a stand to make sure that if they come from a line of racists, that it should end with them.
The children of racists need to be taught in school that the attitudes of their parents towards other cultures are wrong, and that they should avoid emulating the hatred that their parents hold.
It is rather obvious that the feelings of white supremacy over blacks did not die with the end of the Civil War.

Actually I claim that "Left" and "Liberal" became interchangeable terms. I further claim that it was actions of the Left / Liberals that turned "Liberal" into a pejorative--with examples I might add--forcing them to drop that label in favor of "Progressive."
"Woke" is just the latest shift in terms the Left is using to keep them a moving target. MAGA Conservatives, or for that matter anyone not on the Left, didn't invent that label, the Left did to move away from Progressive and previous to that, Liberal. I can accept "awakened" as an alternative and equally inapt term as another pejorative for the Left.
The problem here remains it's the Left's own doing--their idiotic dogma, their insane ideas, their repeated economic, social, and political failures--that ruin their reputation, not the rest of the political spectrum.

How would you go about implementing your plan? At what stage in their educations should they be taught critical race theory? At what point should it end? Will the teaching be standardized? Who will formulate the lesson plan?
Hello Controlled Opposition,
I would leave all of that up to the professional educators. They should be issued a broad directive to make the young aware of the cross-generational hatred perpetuation situation.
It is probably best if the young children of hateful parents are not taught to confront their parents about it. That is not the point. Schools are not there to try to influence parental thinking. The purpose of schools is to teach the students, not the parents.
I would imagine that the very young could not be told everything right away, but merely exposed to examples of acceptance and equality. Only after they become teenagers and begin to get their own impressions about the world should it be explained to them that if their parents are hateful, they should not follow in their parents footsteps on that. They should be warned that confrontations are to be avoided.
I don't know if CRT is right for K-12. That is theory about how government might affect changes in racism by changing institutions undere it's control. That is kind of advanced for K-12.
There are no random "homo" (your words) couples. Hard to find any TV commercials or television shows that don't have the required "woke culture" covered. In all fairness, media has a lot of unnecessary straight characters, too. You don't screech about random hetero couples, yet seeing a random homo couple sets you off.
Sounds like an issue you need to work out, pal.

Give us examples of unnecessary straight characters?
If you want to play the percentage games get back to me.
Required? Why are the authoritarians, nazis and the like, always against capitalism? Media is a business. The ones that survive are the ones that provide products the public wants.
Why should you or I give a shit about someone starting an exclusively gay channel? If you don't want to watch, change the channel. Don't be an authoritarian fuckwit who wants to ban it.
Mr. Tiny Penis, what are you talking about?

Isn't that what freedom is all about? There are a number of gay cable TV channels, none too popular, like Disney's Freeform, or LOGO.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:LGBT-related_television_channels
They don't get much of a viewership as the LGBTPDQRSTUV population is so small (2% or less).
