Hello Flash,
I guess that answers the question "where are you going to get the money to pay for all those programs?"
The one thing that Bernie fails to get across very convincingly is that Single Payer Health Care is a net savings for America, not a cost.
OK?
Other industrialized nations provide healthcare to all, and they do it for half the cost.
That is what Bernie is trying to do.
Halve the cost of healthcare to America.
That is a net gain.
That means the people of America will be spending so much less on health care that if they have to spend half of that savings on increased taxes, they will have the money to do that and still be ahead.
And make no mistake.
It also represents a huge savings for the government, too.
The government currently pays a huge part of the healthcare costs in America.
The government gets that savings just like the people do when the cost is cut in half.
One of the biggest problems with all these savings will be finding work for all the people who will lose jobs because of it.
Who is going to lose work?
All the bureaucrats who work for the insurance industry and for health care providers are at risk.
Two vast armies do battle every day in America, and we all pay for it.
On one side is the health care providers. They are forced to wrangle tons of case files to try to get health services paid for. They have to deal with multiple insurance companies, trying to get claims paid.
The other army is the insurance companies. They have multitudes of people working really hard to deny claims, to avoid paying out money.
This is a ridiculous system which is not needed, and it costs us all thousands of dollars per year.
We are tired of it and we want the savings back.
Where those people would work after this insane system is dismantled, who knows?
But make no mistake. This is an insane system. It accomplishes nothing productive for our society.
What it does is make the rich richer.
It has to end.
