I missed the hymn "Lift Every Voice and Sing" as well.... and skipped the halftime show, as well...that got mixed reactions here...
I'll watch when they bring in bands and drumlines for a proper halftime show...;)

I didn't think I missed anything...I may take a look later...I looked for a youtube of the hymn...I guess it was lip-synced so I'm going to pass....I've heard it many times....our gospel choir did it beautifully...;)

But Guno..."Ob La Di-Ob la Da" was a Beatles song about White English culture . Sir Paul McCartney wrote it. I didn't know LeBron James used the term "woke" regularly because I don't follow most sports figures. All I know is that he runs a family charity that he refers to as The James Gang, because I've seen the HGTV shows where the Gang helps to renovate houses in Ohio for needy families. So you and I can have different experiences about who knows "woke" and when they knew it. I know LeBron didn't use the word in the Rehab Addict shows where he was doing his charity work.

I agree with your last paragraph and it's sad, because that's not how JPP was when I started here. It wasn't perfect but we had some fun in the midst of the arguing, like playing Werewolf and having the football pool. Also the one-on-one debates that were moderated and a winner picked. The moment anyone uses the term 'woke', my ears shut down and I'm done listening.

When Aaron Rodgers used the term in his anti vax tirade, I went from being a fan to hoping he gets his ass kicked every Sunday.

I sometimes argue with the forum morons, but it's only when I'm avoiding doing something I don't want to do in real life and because I'm stubborn. I also like to think I'm consistent in my opinions. Dutch will argue multiple sides of a single subject just to annoy people. I don't get it either.
