Manslaughter?

Love is but the song we sing,
And fear's the way we die
You can make the mountains ring
Or make the angels cry
Know the dove is on the wing
And you need not know why

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try and love one another right now

Some will come and some will go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment’s sunlight
Fading in the grass

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try and love one another right now
(Repeat)

C'mon people...

If you hear the song I sing,
You must understand
You hold the key to love and fear
All in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both
It's there at your command

C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Everybody get together
Try and love one another right now
(Repeat 2 times)

Right now
Right now!

I more than made my point and I shouldn't have been so insistent. I just get annoyed by people who suggest things like, "If you have never been in battle than you can't talk..." or "If you aren't <insert whatever experience they have personally had here> then you can't possibly know and therefore your opinion is based on nothing" arguments.

I am sorry if I went overboard.

You did go overboard a little because Dave is a young guy, who took on a big responsibility and has posted a bit about it, and you can tell he takes it seriously and really loves this little girl. That's nice, that's a nice thing.

No, it is an assumption problem you seem to have. You read one thing, then just fill in whatever you think is the rest instead of asking. Most of our "misunderstandings" are based on what you think my opinion is rather than anything I have stated.

That's your opinion of our misunderstandings.

I know exactly where he is. I've been there.

Is it possible she made a stupid and incompetent error that doesn't neccessarily rise to the level of criminal negligence? Yes.

Its it also possible it does rise to the level of unintentional criminal negligence? Yes.

Should she be (if she hasn't already) be investigated for criminal intent for homicide? Yes.

That what detectives and the courts will sort out.

Everyone happy? :clink:

That's true of just about everyone, Damo. Half of our communication is just filled in assumptions. Oftentimes the connoatations between people go somewhere in the same area, but it's the little differences that throw off an entire conversation.

I learned about this in Oral Comm.

;)

FREE BRODEM!!!?!111?!?!

That's what we'd be saying if she were a rapper.

It's mostly because of the one-dimensional format here. Without voices and body language and eye contact, we're all pretty much clueless, I think.

"Not that I think it makes you more qualified to assess the situation, but I do think you would feel the same way."

LOL> Not that I think it makes you less qualified, but I think it would make you think exactly as I do....

;)

Even that is dismissive of her current opinion.

I knew someone would take it the wrong way, just saddened it was you Damo, of all people. You are often misunderstood when you ask honest questions like that when your only goal is to get people to think, now when I do something similar you jump all over it. Guess your just used to it getting done to you so you jump on the opportunity.

There's also regional differences in word connotation.

But, yes, people are a lot more likely to get angry at each other without facial communication. Which is why flaming gets so ridiculous on the internet.

From now on, we put smileys at the end of every message.

:)

Yeah, the thing is, if body language was apparent it is unlikely we would have these same misunderstandings. Rarely in person-to-person communications do I ever have this problem. It is mostly in written communications, more particularly with those of a different political affiliation that assume we disagree and what my arguments are.

More especially written communications where I often do not have the time to be perfect in my wording.

So, it is your fault? Alright, now we are getting somewhere.!
