Mental Illness is not to blame for gun violence

OK, but you said the past 30 years.
the 30 years was about government and the military, not law enforcement oppression through government.

In both cases, the hostage takers forced the government's hand.
who the fuck was a hostage at ruby ridge?????? who was a hostage taker at waco?

In the case of Waco, Koresh and his people set fire to their building and he killed people, not the government.
so you buy the government version of the massacre. no wonder you think there's no oppression. if you're that brainwashed by gov propaganda, should I even bother with you?

Ah, so yours is a Timothy McVeigh stan account?
what?

And how did you and your guns stop those? You had guns then, and yet you did nothing about those "free speech zones".

So explain to me why you need a gun to protect you from "free speech zones" when you had a gun when there were "free speech zones"?

So you had your shitty little gun while Bush was imposing these free speech zones and you did absolutely nothing about it.

So your gun didn't prevent "free speech zones", it didn't prevent Waco, it didn't prevent anything. You just have your gun because it's your security blanket.
your right. I suggest you immediately put together a government force and start confiscating everyones weapons. i'll wait

OMG you're so fucking stupid. SO FUCKING STUPID!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine a John Smith wants to buy a rifle, but there are SO MANY JOHN SMITHS, that it would take more than 3 days to try and do the background check.

Jesus fucking Christ...

So you believe that our national, instantaneous, background check system isn't national or instantaneous?

Why would it take 3 days for a computer to do a background check since social security numbers are a component of it, so there's no chance for mistaken identity?

Should also note that over half of all gun deaths in this country are from suicide, and suicide by gun is not the most used method for suicide...that method is prescription drugs.

Suicide by gunshot has an 85% "success" rate, meaning 85% of people who attempt suicide by guns succeed.

Suicide by overdose has a 3% "success" rate, meaning 3% of people who attempt suicide by overdose succeed.

About 17,000 people attempt suicide by gun every year, and 15,000 of them are successful.

If they didn't have access to guns and tried to kill themselves with drugs instead, 510 people would die vs. 15,000.

So that statistic alone should be enough for significant gun reform.

Making shit up again? You are hallucinating again.

There is indeed a process to amend the constitution which has been deployed many times.
That's why we have all those numbered amendments.

Said process is useless, however, when the nation is as polarized as it is now.
It requires consensus that's laughable to even contemplate in today's times.
No American alive today will ever see another constitutional amendment.

We have a better chance to partition the republic into smaller, more internally compatible nations than to change the nation as it exists today.

There is nothing compatible between an oligarchy and a republic.

Jesus fucking Christ...

I really can only deal with so much fucking idiocy from you. i've reached my limit. wherever you went to school should be closed and burnt down because they screwed you royally

not relevant.

LMAO!

It's not relevant who evaluated your skills? How can you claim they're well-regulated, then?

I don't answer to the government. they answer to us.

And the majority of people want gun control.

yep. apparently I passed since they put thousands of lives in my hands as an air traffic controller

Then you have nothing to worry about undergoing one today.

In fact, you should be eager to prove you're not a threat by submitting to a mental health exam.

Do you have the courage to do that? Doubtful.

The right to live?
Everyone dies, dude. Did you know that? Some people deserve to for a crime they've committed.
So you want to give people guns, but you don't want to give people health care for when they are harmed by the gun you just gave them.
You can't stop guns.
Everyone has access to healthcare. Heck, I've even provided it myself from time to time.

Why are they harmed with a gun? Bigotry. Hoplophobia.

Paradox. You can't argue both sides of a paradox. You're being irrational again. You are even trying to build a straw man fallacy this way.

Only if you consider mass shooters as criminals, which I don't. I consider them mass shooters.

You're trying to lump them all together because you can't argue the benefits of guns in each vacuum.

Like it or not, the biggest supplier of guns to criminals are people exactly like you.

Yes they do if implemented smartly.
Nope. Price controls do not work...period. There is no 'smart' way to implement them.
We know you are incapable of implementing them smartly because of how you fucked up COVID.
I don't control the covid19 virus. Neither does Trump. Neither does Biden. Neither do you. The only thing fucked up is your own fear of it.
So this is really a conversation of which you aren't a part because you have nothing to offer.
Cliche fallacy. Assumption of victory fallacy. Bulverism fallacy.

the 30 years was about government and the military, not law enforcement oppression through government.

OK, so...in the past 30 years, you've owned guns the whole time because, as you say, they're meant to protect against government overreach.

Yet, you have never once used your guns in the last 30 years to stop any of the government overreach you say you need the guns for.

So that presents a problem for you...you can't argue that you need these weapons because of the government, but not do anything with these weapons against the government the last 30 years.

So like, where were you and your guns when the Patriot Act was passed and then renewed the last 20 years?

How did your guns prevent that from happening?

OH THEY DIDN'T?

So "guns to protect against government overreach" is bullshit because you never once protected anyone from government overreach the last 30 years, despite being armed like a third world tinpot dictator.

then take them away from government, seeing how they have murdered over 200 million civilians over the last century

nobody is entitled to the products or services of another.

this is wrong, as usual. The SCOTUS has ruled that one of our unalienable rights is to contract, own property, and pursue life, liberty, and happiness.
why are you always wrong?

He hates America. He hates the Constitution. He hates conservatives. He hates capitalism. He hates corporations and any other form of business. He hates guns.

He hates.

I have here in Georgia and it's remarkably easy.

All you need is the cash and to pass the background check (which is instant), and you can walk out of a store with a gun in 10 minutes.

How would you know? You hate guns. You are afraid of them. You have never bought a gun.

Of the 35,000 deaths from guns every year, how many of those are justifiable self-defense?

Because we know about half are suicides, which could be prevented with mental health pre-screenings.

Argument from randU fallacy. You are making shit up again.

it's not always instant. the law gives the ATF 3 days and I know quite a few who had to wait the 3 days

The guy on the street corner selling guns doesn't even run a background check! Oh...you can get drugs from him as well.
The federal government has tried Prohibition before. It doesn't work.
