Most Conservatives Still Believe The Civil War Wasn't Over Slavery

further more - it is an argument that the larger lasting impact of that war was about much more then slavery. Every 5-4 decision we see come down from SCOTUS is a remnant of a war that turned a constitution into a bunch of contradictory words that can no longer be agreed on.

Slavery was not going to last much longer regardless, even if the South were allowed to break free. What else was settled was we do not actually believe in the Spirit of 1776 - that was propaganda to get a bunch of people to fight a war for transfer of power

I think the Constitution could not be agreed upon early in our history (McCulloch, Marbury).

They wanted to usurp the freedom of others. For example, in the years following the war, it wasn't wealthy aristocrats running around lynching blacks—it was the average, poor classes of southerners.

No it was the terrorist wing of the Democrat Party, the KKK. And they were intent on terrorizing Republicans, both black and white.

Big shock. Those who can convince themselves that Trump is qualified to be president are able to convince themselves that slavery was not the cause of the civil war. They are adept at self delusion. They can believe what they want or think they need.

both of those examples were unanimously decided by the highest court though.

These 5-4 cases were not very predominant before "Incorporation"

I believe that is a true statement, based on an examination of history.

No hon, that's your entire society, it's just that all amnericans are able to rise to is denial and blame game/shifting. Americans simply cannot handle talkiong openly and honestly about what america actually is and how we got here.
